The best one I have heard that isnt all played out is by Heartland and it's
I loved her first
I Loved Her First
Heartland
Walt Aldridge/Elliott Park
Look at the two of you dancin' that way
Lost in the moment and each other's face
So much in love, you're alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world
I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one, she told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl
Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way
I loved her first
I held her first
And a place in my heart
Will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first
How could that beautiful woman with you
Be the same freckled-face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairytales to
And tucked into bed all those nights
And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time
I loved her first
I held her first
And a place in my heart
Will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm goin' through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first
Ooh, ooh

There's a song called "Butterfly Kisses" I'm not sure who by, but it's really sweet, um, some of the lyrics go, "There's two things I know for sure/She was sent here from heaven/And she's daddy's little girl/......(Then some more about the girl's childhood and stuff like that).........Sweet sixteen 2day........and then and finally the wedding day experience. It's a slow, really sweet song. It's one of my personal favourites. You can do a search on the net for it.

I loved her first is a beautiful song! That's what my father and I are going to use at my wedding. He gets all emotional when he hears it. So be prepared to cry. Even the strongest man can cry do to the lyrics in this one. It's by Heartland

I danced with my Uncle to "My Girl" as my father / daughter dance. We danced to a version by Otis Redding that was upbeat and sweet...
