your best bet is to just have a nice civil ceremony (courthouse deal) so you can start to get housing allowance - and get to go live with your hunny. You can go out to a nice dinner with the parents and close family afterwards, but then start planning a bigger reception and in a couple months or in a year (on your anniversary) throw the big bash with all of your friends and family!

i completely understand your situation. Thre are two things you can do. 1.) Get married in front of a jp and have a ceremony later when he is back for more time.
or 2.) plan plan plan!!! If you want to have the whole thing now then find or borrow a wedding dress. You can find a really cheap one at a thrift store that may not need to be altered. Or wear a really pretty white dress. Have several members of your family or friends bring food and buy a few things like cheesecake and cupcakes that are already made instead of a big cake. Have the wedding at a church or a garden that will require minium decorating and borrow as much stuff as you can! I went to goodwill and found all my vases for my centerpieces. I got 6 for 5$! It was a great deal. And instead of invitations call people and invite them.

I didn't plan my wedding in 3 weeks...but here goes.

If you belong to a church, you shouldn't have any trouble booking a wedding there, since you are in special circumstances. The pastor may want you both to go through marriage counselling as part of getting married in the church. Check to see if marriage license fees are reduced if you go through marriage counselling. If so, most counselling is about 4-6 hours in length and can be done in 1 day. If you don't want to go through marriage counselling, consider getting married at the courthouse or reserve a local park for a small outdoor wedding and hiring a Justice of the Peace. Whatever you decide to do, decide now and start making arrangements.

You and your fiance need to decide now on a wedding date and let both families and close friends know about it so that they can make arrangements to be there. Keep it small. You don't really have time to send out formal invites, so get some at WalMart or a craft store like Michaels and do them at home on your computer. Get your mother and best friend together and have them help you. Call or email family and friends to let them know about the date ASAP, since invites will take a few days to get there.

Places like Dillards and Macy's have lots of formal dresses on the rack, or nice, informal ones if you prefer. Check with a local bridal shop to see if you can buy off the rack if you want a wedding dress, but realize that it will be more expensive to get the dress altered in such a short period of time. My suggestion would be to find a dress at a department store and buy a wedding dress later if you want to have the full wedding experience at a later, more convienient date.

For food, think about what you want to serve. If it's just finger foods, go to a Sam's Club or Costco (best bet if you have a membership or know someone who does) or another store and buy the appropriate amount of food. If it's family and friends, I'd say plan on 35-40 people, but make sure to get a head count about a few days before hand before you go shopping. At my wedding, we had fruit and veggie trays, bbq meatballs in a crockpot, the mini eclairs and cream puffs, some finger sandwiches that my mom made, things like that. Or you can go to your favorite restaurant and see if they can cater. If you have a Salsarita's, go see them, it's a lot of food for like $7.50 a person and they don't have a long booking time. For the cake, order a sheet cake from your local deli (we like Krogers the best, the frosting is good but not too sweet). Or you can arrange a small reception at a nice restaurant and work with them on food and a cake, etc.

Don't worry about all the other stuff that typically comes with weddings. As long as you have your family and close friends there, some food and a cake, and all the legal stuff taken care of, you should be fine. Let people know the circumstances of your wedding, that your fiance is a soldier, and you'll be suprised how people will bend over backwards to help you.

Congrats and good luck!!!

Yes, it can be done. You may need to be a bit flexible on details, but it's perfectly possible.

I'd opt for something fairly small, quite possibly in someone's living room or backyard. Spread the word by phone, because there isn't time for formal invitations. Find a dress off the rack and let any bridesmaids wear clothes they already have or ask them to choose simple dresses in a particular color.

Don't stress too much about details. All you actually need are a marriage license, an officient, and a small number of witnesses - usually two. Delegate things you don't care about very much, and accept any offer of help you think will actually be helpful.

Most of all, enjoy your wedding! An intimate wedding held quickly can be charming, so long as the couple look as happy as they feel.

Best of luck and all joy to you both. May your marriage be long and happy.

Since it's only 3 weeks away, I think you'll have to so a small wedding, close friends and family only. Try to find an upscale restaurant that will give your party a private room. Order your cake and flowers right away. Get out there and find your dress and have it fitted. You'll problably have to get married by the justice of the peace since you don't have much time to plan a church wedding.

Good luck to you.

My mom is a wedding coordinator and she's planned several small fast military weddings.

you could have positioned your foot down on all this it sluggish in the past yet at 3 weeks there continues to be time notably if no funds has replaced palms. If there is time cancel the great teach and flow with the small element you needed. regrettably it sounds love it relatively is only too late to make differences so the appropriate i'm able to permit you be responsive to is to ask you usual practitioner for some style of tranquilizer or an anxioty(sp) reliever you need to take the evening earlier and sleep andnot be so stressful day after in the present day, through fact evidently such as you would be caught with the great production selection relax, Remembe all and sundry there is rooting for you and happy for you so relax and don't permit it rigidity you out. Are you going to declare I DO to the guy you like? Is he gonna say an analogous to you? it relatively is all you would be responsive to approximately. they desire a huge element tell them i wanted small so this enormous affair is all on you basically tell me while to manifest. Then flow to an outstanding day spa, get your hair completed and get interior the limo and manifest. No rigidity, I recommend it it relatively is all you're able to do and in case you are attempting this none of something relatively concerns in any respect so flow away it to those that desire it and take it person-friendly so which you will get excitement from your day. have faith me and additionally you will no longer have any rigidity and it will nonetheless artwork out grand. it is ver possible to plan a wedding in 3 weeks! BUT, I must warn you are going to be very busy! I also must warn you that you may or may not be able to find many venues that are available for that date! Many people book their venues years in advance! I would advise you to call around and ask what is available. Also, you may have problems finding bakeries that can have cakes for then. They also tend to book up in advance! Again, I would advise to call around and see what you can find! Florists will be the same way!
If you are willing to do alot on your own, then you will be able to pull it off, most likely! But if not you may have problems finding people/services that are available!
You may want to think about any friends or family that have a home with a large back yard that you could use for your venue! Also, you need to start looking for dresses, David's Bridal or Dillards or somewhere like that may be your best bet. Bridal Boutiques take longer to get things in. They can, of course, put a rush on your order but you're going to pay for it!
I would advise trying to find as much stuff as you can locally, you will run the risk of not having things delivered on time if you order off of the internet! And you would hate to be stuck and not have things in on time!
Otherwise, good luck and congratulations!
Also, don't forget to find someone to perform the ceremony and to go get your license!

Make sure you know the licensing requirements for your area, and as soon as he gets home, go get the license. I would say contact the officiant tomorrow and get him scheduled....at this quick time, word of mouth invites is probably all you have time for...you can throw together a small outdoor thing in no time, honestly. I wish I only had 3 weeks to do my wedding.

My friend Courtney had a civil ceremony with her husband two weeks before he shipped out on a 3-year stint with the Navy. When he is home and they are settled they plan on having a big wedding and a huge reception. This way they are legaly married and she can live on base and share his benefits and things. It worked out really well for them!

I'm planning one now that is about 2 weeks away.
I'm just trying to stay calm and not get overwhelmed.
Get a bridal check list, check out local bridal stores, the internet and talk to those who have planned weddings for more ideas.

Congratulations and good luck!
