In theory, yes. You can be a christian and also question the validity of the Bible. Believing in the bible doesn't make you a christian. By definition a christian is a person who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ and also tries to follow his example.

Of course it is possible.
Only a small percentage of Christians think there is a **THE** bible and that it is **THE** truth.
The rest of us are not so narrow-minded.
The bible has been translated and retranslated a billion times. Then some are also interpreted.
Not all bibles say the same thing. So how can there be a THE bible which is THE end all be all 100% truth?
People who swear the King James Version is the end all be all perfect bible. Then why do the different printing houses carry different editions? Bartleby's edition is different from Oxfords, just to name two
So how can it be this perfect thing if they're diffrent?
How can poetry and prayers be either truth or fiction? They are neither. They are feeling and emotion.
Have yourself a good read:

Sure, you can believe anything you want, but what's the point? The same drunk guys that wrote the rest of the Bible, also wrote the gospel. The Jesus story is no more absurd than anything else that the Bible claims to be true. A more honest path would be atheism or agnosticism.
As far as using the Bible as a moral guide; well, there were many things that Jesus supposedly preached that were not really all that moral. Jesus said that he came with a sword instead of in peace, and he encouraged the disciples to leave their families so that they could spread the word with him. Millions of people live good, moral lives without reading an ancient, outdated book.

Hello and asking if i must believe in the bible to be a Christian is something like asking must i go to the ball field to play on the team, Now about your misunderstanding on that Bible, it was written over a 1500 period of time by 44 authors but it does not disagree with itself, and 30% of the bible is Prophecy, and the changed lives, proving this Holy Bible not inspired will be something you will have to really work on because you have a lot of proof stacked against you. Jesus Christ the entire bible, all of Love, all of it hung "just for you" on a cross called Calvary. What man can make up a story like that? God bless.

You're right, the "bible" was written and re-written by man...
No. it is impossible to be a christian and NOT believe in the "bible", because what's written in the NT of the "bible" is a reflection of christianity's false promises, lies and deceptions.
Here's the Solution for christians, the "bible" and religion:
Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs and start Your journey back home, to Heaven.
<<<<<<< UnConditional Love is the only answer >>>>>>>
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
the "bible" a moral guide - rotf - lmao @ that one ---
where's the PROOF ???

I would think it would be difficult to live in modern times as a Christian without either dismissing most of the Bible altogether, ignoring the Bible, or at the very least not seeing why much of the context of the Bible is at odds with experience and common sense.

"Thy Word is truth"
"I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life..."
"In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word became flesh"
You can't have one without the other. They are both the same.
One of the worst forms of idolatry is to pick and choose what you want to believe from scripture, and then disregard what you don't want to believe. I suspect that many times those who put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (Which is taught in scripture), but want to disregard the Bible, in part or as a whole, want to form a personal "Jesus" that has nothing to do with scripture. Idols. God calls this type of idolatry an abomination.

Hello
Well according to some of the Christian sects I would have to say say yes. Eternal security is the key here. Accept only that Christ is the son of God your savior who died for your sins, you only get to God by him, get baptized, reborn so to speak and you are saved forever! Believing or bothering in the rest of the bible becomes redundent since you are a Christian technically speaking with a free ticket to heaven no matter what.

I think that if you believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died for your sins even though you don't have a bible to look it up, you are saved through faith in that and not of yourself but I do also believe that God will bring you to his word and eventually hit you in the face with it being truth and you will eventually by whatever means he uses, see that this is Gods written word of truth and he'll start getting you ready for your purpose within his plan.
ie: I think it is possible for salvation but it is short term not to believe in the bible being God's written word.

Being that the bible is the only place where those characters are mentioned I think it would be rather difficult to believe in those things if you rejected the alleged accuracy of the bible.
I won't say it's impossible, but rather unlikely. Maybe people through word of mouth would believe in these characters without knowing where they came from or even picking up a bible.
