First, Does your tv have a Line 1 and a Line 2. If so then hook the DVD into Line 1 and the VCR into Line 2. Just remember to change your setting on your tv depending on what you want to watch.
If you do not have a Line 1 & Line 2. Then you will to go through the VCR. Plug the DVD into Line 1 of your VCR. You will need to have the VCR on while watching a DVD.

Use the coaxial connections in the back of both the DVD/VCR and daisy chain them ending with the TV.

There are two coaxial connections in both the DVD/VCR, an IN and OUT connection each. If you are connecting cable/satellite to your TV, connect that cable to DVD in the IN connection. Run an other coaxial cable from the OUT of the DVD to the IN of the VCR. finally run another coaxial cable from the out of the VCR to the sole connection of the TV.

1) Your antenna coax cable plugs into back of vcr, where coax cable says "IN/Antenna".

2) TV coax cable goes into back of vcr which says "OUT/TV".

3) Dvd is hooked into back of vcr with RCA phono plugs, which are 2 or 3 sets of wires with colored plugs (red, white and yellow) in the "IN" section also labeled for "AUX" or "DVD". Just make sure that the same colors on back of DVD and back of VCR are in same slots.

Or you could just spend $50 at Walmart, get a brand new Magnavox dvd/vcr player unit, and plug in a single coax cable" (as in #'s 1 and 2) and have everything in one package!! And it'd be brand new!! Spend $140, and get it with recordable DVD.
