Don't expect to see it , or detect it with any of our senses, because it is a spiritual realm not a material one. The best way to describe it in a modern sense is to say it exists in a different dimension, outside of our physical senses.
Being in Heaven is being in the eternal presence of God, this is an ecstatic state of existence, nothing else is necessary. Those religions that believe in a materialistic type heaven with all sorts of worldly pleasures, completely miss the point. We see all sorts of abberations arising from this type of teaching. Suicide bombing is one example.

Heaven is somewhere that isn't here. And it's different for everyone. My Heaven might have beef jerky trees and Slurpee rivers, while your Heaven might have harps and fluffy clouds. The common thread is that we are reunited with lost loved ones. I also believe that we catch glimpses of Heaven in our dreams.

Heaven is in the spirit world, and the further you go up, the more beautiful it is.
If you want to know more just ask.

It's not in the eyes. It's in the superstitious imagination only.

Just outside the solar system's (as we know it) atmosphere. God is all around and so is His kingdom.
