Not sure if I understand what your asking...
It's great.
Every time that I do the approach, my foot quickly finds my mouth and I feel very silly.
It is very flattering to be approached.

How would you feel if you won the lottery and you never even bought a ticket, it just blew into your hand one day?
This is so uncommon now and it's a mystery to me. Females will tend to uphold their rights to be treated equally (which they should) and not being bound by old-fashioned limitations and etiquette, but they fall to the easier answer when it comes this question each time; they prefer to be traditional about this thing alone...because it's simply easier.
Don't take the easy route. Take a breath and just let it happen. No man will ever treat you rudely, even if you are not the one he was staring at the whole night. He will at least include you in his glances, if not start only staring at you, for the rest of the evening.

I would think it's a girl that walked up to me and started a conversation. Men are simple, it's exactly what it looks like. We may think your interested, or just being friendly; that's the hard part.

I think that it is perfectly fine and kind of hot. I mean why should the guy always be expected to initiate the conversation?

It depends whether the conversation is interesting. It gets a girl noticed, so it's fine in my book.

I think the old traditions of men doing the going up to a woman you don't know or asking them out is way old and a woman doing this , is refreshing and I like that.

I like it, i like it a lot. Very flattering if the person is nice and not slutty. I get approached by skanks from time to time even now and i hate it. But if she's respectable and smart i'm very taken by it.

I would just start talking and go along with it. I might think she would be a little creepy, depending on what she was talking to me about.
