Considering it was his idea- I don't think I forced him at all.

I know the man I am about to marry (1 more month-to the day) and I are meant to be with eachother. I would never give an ultimatum, there is no reason to force anyone to do so otherwise; it is not for the right reason(s).
I do know what happens when people assume... they make an *** out of you and me. LOL

Nope. I knew from the beginning I would marry him...but there was no way I was going to bring THAT up!! He was the first to make mention of it...and the first to buy me a wedding magazine.
BUT, I did know of a girl how had gave her then bf an ultimatum because her mom was dieing of cancer and she wanted to have her at the wedding. They were married for 15 months I think.

Not I!
However, my friend, I shall call him "Tom", is being pressured by his GF/ex-fiancee again. She says if my BF and I get married before they do that she is dumping him forever. Right now my BF and i are considering eloping just to get rid of Tom's GF!!! They were engaged before becuase she forced him into it with the same line and Tom broke it off because he wasn't ready. I wish this girl would just go away!!! Tom is a nice guy and she is a kniving little whiny b*tch... We think the reason they are still together is that they were each other's "first" and they feel safe with each other. Such garbage!!!

Actually my fiance told me he loved me first and asked if I loved him. When I told him I did, he proposed right then. We've been engaged for 9 months and getting married later this year. We are both marrying for the right reason: We love each other and want to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife.

I gave my ex-h an ultimatum... so we got married. Not surprsingly we divorced years later.
I want to get married this time with no hurries and no ultimatums..
On a second thought...my bf is kinda dragging his feet...I guess that I have to tell daddy to bring the rifle again ...LOL!
Good luck

No ultimatum. You got to let him do it on his own time to know he's ready. I'm watching this happen to my roommate, she told him she'd like to be engaged by this summer and she is engaged now, but he seems unsure.
My guy was actually ready before I was. So he waited for me to give him a go ahead and surprised me a few months later.

I had to..he was taking way too long..hopefully, it's what he really wanted. I asked and he said he was certain..we are in the stages of wedding planning and he doesn't have a problem with it..so I guess I pushed..just a little bit..any man could say no if he chose to..so I guess I wouldn't say I really FORCED him to..

Since it is the male who usually asks the female for her hand in marriage there are probably very few marriages that are the result of female intimidation, although I will admit that after many years of dating I have heard of women who have said either marry me or break-up.

I pity the woman who is marrying a man weak enough to be "forced" into getting married. Grow some balls gents.
Personally I had no idea my fiance was going to propose. That makes it more special to me.

No, I'm not forcing anyone to do anything...just not my style! My finace wants to marry me because we want to share our lives together in love--the right reason to me.
Were you FORCED into marraige? If so, you should be relieved it is over, not bitter it didn't work out.
