Isn't this like whining we didn't win the lottery when we were too lazy to even go buy a ticket?

We don't know that Ghandi is not in Heaven. His mercy is extended to all and St. Faustina with her vision of the Divine Mercy saw that in the last second salvation can be offered to all but we have to want it and yes, that does include all people who have the sentence of death which means ALL PEOPLE.

I think Daniel is still out of sorts about the tree question.

But the people who run the lottery do not claim to be all loving.
Also they do not torture anyone who does not buy a ticket.
You simile is also invalid because:
Not everyone who buys a ticket wins the jackpot.
Everyone can see what happens to those that win.
What you are doing is spending a huge amount of money to buy a ticket that allegedly guarantees that you will win a billion dollar jackpot, but they refuse to pay out until you leave to go to the Bahamas. Once there you can never come back and you can not talk or write to anyone back home.
How can an all loving god send anyone to hell for eternity? What possible crime is so great that the person needs to suffer an infinite time of torture?

That's not the question sweetie, the point is why would god send a person to hell, like Gandhi for example, a man of faith, peace and integrity but not someone who took Christ as his savior, but let a child molester into Heaven who "repented and took Christ as his savior"?
They are literally millions of those type of examples. It appears that Heaven will be filled with ex murderers, ex rapists, ex liars but hell is filled with good Buddhists, Muslims, atheists who lived a good life but didn't buy into Christ
have I got that right? If not where am i wrong?

Good grief, Daniel - you need to calm down. I think you missed the meaning completely.

Maybe people are upset because they, apparently, have to spend an eternity in torment because they didn't win the lottery after buying a ticket.

Because people don't want to give up anything for Christ. We just want to walk around, do what we do and only call on God when we need him and expect him to shoe us right on in.

No, it's like trying to get some people to justify why they think their god is "benevolent".
