Do you think lilac and silver would work for wedding colors? The girls would be in lilac and the guys vests would be silver. I can't decide which purple would look best. I have narrowed it down to these colors from Davids Bridal:
Hyacinth
Victorian Lilac
Lilac
Light Peri

Also what could you do for the flowers?

I now the gus would never wear lilac vests and my fiance doesn't want to make them and we like silver as well so that is why they would wear silver. I would try to put some kind of silver on the girls dress like a ribbon or something

I would do blue, but I was a bridesmaid in June last year and I am a bridesmaid in 2 weddings in 2008 & 2009 and all three are doing or did blue, so I realized how common it was and I wanted to do something different

I think that sounds great, I like the color Hyacinth, it be be beautiful with the Silver, Have the guys wear that color in a flower on there tux!!!! You can get purple or lilac flowers splashed everywhere. Maybe do a mixture of those colors you like with the flowers.

I don't think I like lilac with silver-maybe one of the more medium purple colors. Also, another way to tie in the silver is to have the girls wear silver shoes. This would look good!

For my wedding, it was on a beach so each girl wore different shades of blue (beachy shades) and the guys wore silver vests and it tied together very nicely.

Enjoy! Let us know what you finally decide!

I like lilac and the Victorian Lilac. If you don't want blue stay away from the peri - it is more blue than purple. I would go with the silver vests for the guys too. I had the girls in periwinkle and I didn't want to subject the guys to periwinkle vests so we went with silver. I didn't have silver anywhere else and it still looked nice.
For flowers you could go traditional or bold. Traditional would be light pinks, light purples, cream. Bold would be like hot pink with bright irises. I went with bold and everyone loved it. They were hot pink and bright yellow roses, with purple irises and blue delphinium to tie it back in with the dresses. It looked great and people told me they would have never thought of that color combo but it really complimented and stood out against the dresses.

It sounds beautiful I would suggest maybe Lilac and a darker shade of purple with silver as an accent color. Have the guys vests be silver with lilac or purple ties.

Hey

I went with Lilac for Bridesmaids matching vests from Afterhours for the Groomsmen and the mother color is Victorian Lilac. Our wedding is next week and the colors look amazing together!

Good Luck!!!

you could have the girls wear silver strappy shoes...that would look cool. also a silver ribbon around each girls bouquet would pick up some of that silver from the guys' vests. as for the flowers themselves...i think sprays of lilac would be gorgeous.

Lilac and silver. Would a pretty choice. Flowers depend if you are going real or silk. You could go from deep rich lilac to a very pale almost silver. Really depends on your favourite.

I love purple, when I got married, the bridesmaids wore purple.

Flowers, I would say go with purple and white, just ask the florist, they can recommend what would be best. Throw a little more color in, probably some yellows or pinks or something.

I like lilac and periwinkle both and they would both work with silver. For the flowers you could do lavender nosegays with white roses. Here is a picture of a bouquet so you have an idea. http://www.thebridesbouquet.com/sweetLavenderNosegay.asp
I'm using this one with yellow roses as my colors are lilac and yellow.

My friend Tiffany did lilac and silver in her 2004 wedding and it looked very nice.
