My wedding colors are dark purple (like grape or eggplant), lavender, silver and white (of course).
I thought I would have my bridesmaids where the dark purple and my maid of honor wear lavender but now I am not sure. My wedding is in the summer. What about the mothers? Maybe silver?
I know I (we) want the groomsmen to wear black tuxes with silver ties and vests, but what about the groom? I am thinking maybe he should wear white? Then what about the ring bearer and best man? Do they wear the same as the groomsmen?
I also will have daughter (age 3 at that time) as the flower girl, and my 3 teenage nieces as hostesses.
I guess I am not good at this coordinating thind! Any help is appreciated!

No I mean a black tux with white tie and vest for the groom. I am not a fan of white tuxes either.
I don't think the guys want to wear purple vests, so thats why I am suggesting they wear silver with maybe a purple boutinere. (sp).

Please no white tuxes and ABSOLUTELY no LAVENDER or silver tuxes! How ugly! LOL!
ALso, I really don't think that having black tuxes "adds" another color. It is a traditional color!

I think that those are GREAT colors! Especially for a summer wedding. An idea might be, have the
bridesmaids: dark purple/eggplant colored gowns with lavander sashes.
Maid of Honor: the same or lavander dress with dark eggplant colored flowers that match the color of the other girl's dresses
Groomsmen: Black tux's with lavander or eggplant vests
Mothers in Lavander or silver
Flower girl in lavander gown with silver sash, or repeat of bridesmaid dresses
Ring Bearer: Black tux with lavander vest (have him match the flower girl)
Groom: Black tux with white vest and tie or white dinner jacket
Keep in mind you don't want EVERYONE to be matching exactly (that looks a bit neurotic) But variations of your color palatte throughout the bridal party always looks great, especially in photographs.
A great way to get more ideas of how it all looks together is to look at bridal photographer's websites. (Aside from theknot.com, davidsbridal.com, or other wedding sites)
Another great place to look for colors that compliment those shades believe it or not is on floral websites. Look for bouquet arrangements. You'd be surprised to see what pairs well with dark purple and eggplant and it might just give you a better visual contrast and flow.
I hope this helps! Congrats!

You sound like me...I'm still deciding what colors to use. Every time I think I've chosen the colors I think of another combination. A dark purple and a lavender are LOVELY together. Put the bridesmaids in the lavender and the flower girl and moh in the dark purple. the groomsmen with the silver vests and ties are great, the groom should wear a black tux with a white vest and no tie (I think it would separate him and still look good) the ring bearer can wear a white vest and silver tie...or you can put him in all silver(black tux of course) the best man...he generally wears the same thing as the groomsmen...you can minus the tie for a different look. The mothers...they could wear any of the colors except white. All white is for the bride to wear. Maybe the mothers could wear both dark purple and lavender. The hostesses...they can wear anything I suppose.

I am a wedding planner in training and all I can say is that really you have one too many colors.Summer weddings you have to think about the weather and how comfortable you want to be.If you must use the silver and white please just choose either the lavender or dark purple.I would say the lavender. If you choose to use only 3 colors or keep all the mothers should be in white. You done added another color by wanting the groomsmen in black tuxes.Let them wear white tuxes with lavender vests or cummerbands and let the groom wear a white tux with a silver vest or cummerband and a lavender flower on the lapel. The ring bearer should be a mini version of the groom and the best man should wear a silver or lavender tux with a silver or lavender vest or cummerband.Let the girls dress in lavender with white shoes.

The mothers should definitely wear the silver because you want them to stand out by themselves. So you don't want them dressed with the rest of the wessing party. Have your daughter wear the white and she can be the flower girl or even a junior bridesmaid. The ushers should also wear the eggplant color. The only people that should be wearing the light colored purple is the maid of honor and it would even be nice if you can find that color in a vest and tie for the best man. Since they will be working together. I definitely think that the bridesmaids should wear the eggplant. Ringbearer should just wear the black suit like the rest of the guys. But I don't know about the white suit for you husband to be. He could also be like the best man and do the black tux with the light colored purple. But you might want to ask him waht is his preference.

Regarding the mothers, I don't think you have much say in what they wear. They should be able to wear what they are comfortable with, and what colors look best on them.
Are you talking a completely white tux for your fiance? I'm not a fan of those, but I know some people like them, it's your preference, it's your wedding. I think the groom should wear a black tux, with either a white or silver tie and vest. If he wears silver, I would have the guys wear purple vests.
Good luck, it will be great whatever you decide!

Our wedding was kind of like this, our colors were navy blue, ice blue, and silver. the maid and matron of onor wore ice blue, the bridesmaids wore navy. The girls all wore silver shoes. The groom wore black vest, the bestman wore an ice blue vest, the groomsmen wore navy vests. You could have them all wear silver vests, if they wouldn't wear purple. I let my mother and his moher pick their own dresses, they both picked navy. My flower girls wore ice blue, but white dresses with a grape or lilac sash would be very dramatic and pretty. The ringbearer can match the groom, groomsmen, or wear something totally different, it is up to you!

I really like the idea of the guys wearing silver and the groom wearing white. I was in a wedding with the two different purple colors and she let us girls (bridesmaids) choose our color purple.
Go to www.davidsbridal.com
I'm not suggesting you shop there, I'm not a big fan at all, but they do have a neat program on their website that lets you dress your wedding party. It may help you decided what color is worn by whom.
Good luck to you, and congratulations!

Ok If I were you. I would accent with the darl purple but since it is during the summer have the bridesmaids and hostesses in liliac, flowers girl in white with say a lilic bow around her waist. The groomsmen and bestman should match (i think)~ silver vests and your groom should stand out maybe a black vest with white coat and black pants... Just an idea

I would do red/apple for the bridesmaid's dresses. However, for the flowers and centerpieces I would use a combination of reds, oranges, browns, champagnes etc. I don't think you will have a fall themed wedding that way. But, I really would recommend using these colors. Especially if you want to take pictures outside. The way the colors will pick up on nature, the trees, etc.
