IT'S HARD TO SAY. If they don't like this site, they can always go to a DIFFERENT one!

I am not sure.

But I am concerned about the readiness to censure questions and answers. I would rather that neither questions nor answers be censured unless the question or answer constitutes a specific and egregious threat.

I no longer rate answers, especially negatively, because then Yahoo Answers obscures them. I do not like answers to be obscured. This lessens the openness of this forum. We are adults (I presume) and can tolerated a little offensiveness.

Offensiveness is not a good reason to curtail free speech. Tolerating offensiveness is definitive of free speech. If a society cannot tolerate offensive speech, it is not free.

Any religion or culture that threatens death to individuals in response to offensive speech is not a religion or culture that I can admire.

It is funny that CreoleGirl would even answer this question. She is known to be one of the biggest gay bashers on this site. She is a bully and a biggot. She constitutes bullying on this site.

Hmm, that's an interesting question.

I think it models bullying in the real world. For example, in Cherry Creek, the bullies say, "GIVE ME YOUR LATTE MONEY!"

Similarly, on this site, I consider two things bullying: (1) Stalking/reporting; (2) Posting questions for the mere purpose of insulting other users.

I've never see bullying on this site..on a related note I picked up your dry cleaning and spit shined all your shoes like you told me..I just don't understand why I had to spit shine your shoes, but like you always tell me there is a reason for everything you do and I should just shut up and rub your feet..

The definition of "bullying" is:
a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people. To treat in an overbearing or intimidating manner. To force one's way aggressively or by intimidation.

—Synonyms browbeat, coerce; terrorize, tyrannize, intimidate.

If you meet this criteria, you might be a bully.

Thats a hard question to answer since alot of people on here get a kick out of being mean to every comment they respond to. Some people are just mean spirited. So I would say if someone stalked every answer you posted and wrote something mean they would be harassing you. : )

probably someone who tries to tell you that you don't know what you are talking about, or that they somehow have superior knowlege to yours by insisting on it. Other words for bullying are belitteling (sp), chastising, insulting (either directly or indirectly), etc.

If you think someone is picking on you, then report them - they always have the option NOT to talk with you. If they elect to chat with you, and your feelings are hurt , then report them, I suggest.

I think it becomes bullying when it becomes personal targets. People start targeting others, questions addressed solely to one person, a barrage of violations on that person, that kind of stuff.
