I have brown hair and I don't want to pre-bleach it. I have light natural highlights so I hope the purple will give it more of a highlight/tint. Can anyone tell me what type of brands there are that have no peroxide or ammonia in their dyes?Thank you.

If you want no lightener, then tub colors like manic panic or punky color are about your only choice. Mix colors as you see fit to get your desired shade. It will not be bright, because they have no lift, so you're only adding color on top of your own. There's no other way to properly lighten hair without a peroxide based developer, although you can find ammonia free brands.

there are so many its hard to pinpoint but if you use a crazy color like that they will be hard to get out no matter what. I would try Paul Mitchel inkworks . No amonia or peroxide

Nrage doesn't require prebleaching...neither does Manic Panic if you leave it long enough...I don't know about the ammonia, etc.
