Amc, You don't understand the WHOLE of the context that OUR Lord was speaking in that which you quote of Him.
But, really I was wanting to get the opinions of children of God. Thanks anyway.

Jesus:
"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."

Serving:
"It's not our place to judge anyone, that job belongs to God."

It would be impossible to obey 2Timothy 4:2 among others without judging.

The last time this question came up (in history) the neat solution that was hit upon was to kill everyone where there was some doubt and let god sort it out. This might or might not be considered extreme in this day and age, but it is definitely where judging others WILL lead to.

John 7:24: "not according to the appearance" is saying get the facts before you judge. According to your bible, only god has the kind of omniscience to get the actual facts, so only god is qualified to judge. No human could possibly enact righteous judgement.

the undertaking of that passage is fake prophecy. apparently, some human beings have been doing a sturdy corporation affirming themselves the bearers of messages from God, and in accordance to Jeremiah, God wasn't extremely joyful. (hear that, Harold camping out?) The implication right here is that actual messages from God are overpowering, like a burning hearth or some thing shattering. Racketeers generally understand greater effective than to offer something that sturdy: you do no longer want to start a panic in case you want human beings contributing funds. The hammer metaphor is extremely exciting; it resonates actual with the protest music "If I Had a Hammer" with the aid of Lee Hays and Pete Seeger.

God doesn't want us to be judging one another...that is exactly what the Pharisees were doing with Jesus and the children of Israel. Just because they had knowledge of what God's laws were, they thought they were better than others. Christianity is not about religiosity, it's about having a personal relationship with God. It cannot be explained more clearly than in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 7, Verses 1-5, as shown in the source section below. However, we are responsible for keeping one another accountable in our walk. I good be wrong, of course, as I am relatively new in my walk with Christ. But that is my interpretation of the word as it was written. I hope this helps...take care and God bless. ~Charles~

Righteous judgement, so what is that as none are righteous except Christ?

And how does He judge?
1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (King James Version)

14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

note the last sentence. But we have the mind of Christ.

We are not to judge those outside the church. Inside the church, the Apostles and prophets and other leaders are to judge by the Spirit of God. That's how correction is done within the church. For those of you who think there are no Apostles, why does I Corinthians 12 say that God put first in the church Aposltes, prophets, etc? The foundation of all churches is the ministry of an Apostle, if you don't have one, your church is not adhering to sound doctrine, that is, the doctrine of the BIBLE.

Jesus himself says AS we judge we will be judged.

Those with harsh recriminations for others will be harshly dealt with harshly by the Lord.

You decide. Compassion for all? Or Judgment under the law? How many laws have you broken?

Edit:
Boy Sophie, are you narrow minded. My friend Fr. Bart rode a harley, shaved his head, wore a big leather coat like the one you describe.

And was a priest.

Now this IS, a good question.
We're not supposed to judge anyone, that's God's doing. We are supposed to encourage and when we see each other in sin we should correct one another.

Hope this helps,

Jesus says, in Luke 6:37 "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven."

In John 7:24, I believe Jesus taught that He wants us to ASSESS (judge) people we meet by what they do and not by what they look like, wear, or their socio-economic demographics/backgrounds.

But as far as 'judging' as in saying "Yes, she is a Christian who is going to Heaven" and/or "No, she is not a Christian and she is going to Hell". We are not to judge their souls and proclaim someone else's eternal destination, because that is ONLY God Almighty and Jesus Christ's business.
