I think that is a sad comparison! when a baby needs feeding, they should be fed.

Breast feeding is a natural function of life. Yes, so is taking a dump - however elimination functions are lumped in with personal hygiene. Plus, you're making a mess!!!
Feeding a babe is innocent and natural. People that are against it are either prudish or hung up on breasts as sexual objects only.
If a man can run around in the summer shirtless, there is no reason why an innocent baby can't be fed in public.

Its because people nowadays don't know how 2 separate the breast from something that is sexual to something that is a necessity. Before the breast became a sexual plaything it was a necessity for babies to feed. And i guess the people that are disgusted by it are afraid because they know that they are being turned on by the boob but when you stick a child on the end they know that being turned on by a child suckling at a breast is wrong so they just say its disgusting. Also what would you prefer a baby screaming its lungs out because all that mum has is cold milk which was warm that morning or a quiet baby and even then most nursing mothers are considerate and cover themselves with a cloth or something.

lol it is a socially accepted thing because most proponents of breast feeding think that people in the US can look at a baby breast feeding and turn off the fact that breast are also considered a sexual organ. Personally, breast feeding wouldn't be that big of an issue here if they created places that were very comfortable semi-private rooms where both mother and child could have their time together and not have everyone's eyes on them.
Also doesn't help to have some women be so outspoken that they pretty much flash ppl to say "hey! look at me! I'm breast feeding!"
Personally for myself (and I'll catch it for this one) my kids will be bottle fed. I was and my husband was and we are both intelligent well-rounded human beings. The only mouth allowed near my nipples is my husband's!

Why shouldn't it be? Doctors have been telling prospective mums to be for years that "breast is best" then when they leave the hospital, some have been treated like lepers for feeding their babies in public the way nature intended, because some narrow minded fool has decided that they are offended by the sight of a woman's breast.

Because a mother has the right to breastfeed anytime she wants. The child needs food and it was the mother's choice to breastfeed. And its a lot different than pooing, dear. It develops bonds between the baby and the mom and nourishes the baby. Its not a dirty function like pooing as its not polluting the environment. And people dont like it because america has turned breasts into something dirty and made them sexual objects. Breastfeeding is natural and its not like the woman doesnt cover up anyways. I could see maybe if the woman didnt cover herself and had her breasts exposed but what arm does it present to you if she is nursing under a blanket? Live and let live is what I say!!

Why shouldn't it be? There's hardly anything to see, my friend breast-feeds her baby and even sitting next to her I barely see a glimpse. Besides, nothing wrong with non-sexual nudity in the first place, pooing smells but breastfeeding does not.

Breast feeding is, obviously, completely natural and it should be allowed anywhere, except, perhaps, the dinner table, where the slurps and farts might put other diners off their meals. It should not be done in Mcdonbuggerkfc however, for the sake of the feeder, as these establishments might charge corkage for bringing in your own drink to the premises, and they would, doubtless, prefer babies to be fed on cola syrup. Mark you, the slurps and farts would not matter, as these actions are part and parcel of the culinary experience at such vomitaries.
Pooing is also a natural function, but poo marks itself out, naturally, as something to be done in a poo zone, because the vile stink of the substance tells one that it is dangerous.

Pooing is unhygenic, spreads disease and creates a mess, smell. You have serious issues if you find a woman's breasts offensive. Is it just the fact that she has them out and doesn't want you anywhere near them that guiles you? And besides it's unfair on the child.
If you have a problem with children seeing it then you don't understand children: they don't perceive breasts to be sexual so the argument is void.

i think of so. I nursed 2 toddlers, and on an analogous time as i did no longer announce i grow to be nursing and stand interior the process each little thing, I wasn't shy the two. maximum individuals have been friendly and those that weren't knew sufficient to maintain their evaluations to themself. I applaud any woman who has the means and the persistence to nurse, and could be one back myself. For those of you suggesting to take the feeding to the restroom-do you desire to consume interior the restroom? inspite of the fact that there are further and extra kinfolk restrooms transforming into avalable, there is as a rule no longer one handy. do you desire to hearken to a screaming mad toddler or sidestep your eyes for a 2d on an analogous time as mom seems after business company? And except you're STARING, you're no longer gonna get a peep teach. i grow to be nursing on a public bnch, on the zoo, on a ninety*+ afternoon while my mom stated protecting with a blanket. Gees, the comfortable breeze grow to be wonderful and being around all those animals made me experience wild. i did no longer cover up. for people who're such UGH!-Why do no longer you flow and get your self a blanket, take a seat someplace in a restroom, and consume your dinner.

Certainly times have changed in regards to such things, but if you can tolerate young kids hanging out on the street corner spitting on the sidewalk, or playing tonsil hockey in the corner of the public rest room where all can see, or going to the park to watch old people attracting dirty old pigeons with table scraps who then proceed to poop all over everything in sight, then why can't you stand to see one of the most natural things on this earth? A mother lovingly feeding her baby!
