Any number of things could be causing that, and all we could give you here would be educated guesses. I do encourage you to talk to your doctor about this whether you decide to go to counseling or not. There might be some medications which can help you.
Maybe if you had a friend or other loved one with you at the appointment, you might not feel so nervous...?

What scares you about going to counseling? Do you think they will be against you too? There are some therapists that do tele therapy (over the phone) for people just like yourself who are afraid to go are afraid to leave the house.
You need a professional evaluation and assessment from both a psychiatrist and a therapist or psychologist. Because you are paranoid things are VERY SERIOUS. You could be suffering from a number of different disorders and it's just not possible to assess you on this Q and A thing. You desrve to live a comfortable life and if you need help to feel comfortable then you deserve to get the help you need. Please use my links below to get youself some help.

It sounds that you really need some psycological help, docs are not ogres and if someone was is like Shrek or his donkey.
I do not known what disorder is that, because your data is not enough and there are many possible disorders like mild paranoia, stress produced amnesia, extreme anxiety disorder, maybe even doc phobia and specially not knowing the peruvian food are the best of the whole universe but seriously again i known the cure the doc will talk you about so if you try it you can save some of your money, 'cause you truly need something more until you stabilize psycologically:
Get a strong reason to live!!!
Some people live for their children, for making happy their families or friends, others for the world betterment, to save our green planet, for somebody rights, even for get more money, etc. At least be a true woman Yolanda and search diligently for your calling in life.
As a catholic I have an easy time in that issues. Catholics believe we are in the world to spread the news of God loving yourself as you are. That why are still religious people around and always you can find religious people, although not all was catholics, so you are free to choose.

The important thing is your asking for help.even on this site.
You sound like you have depression and a number of social phobias.I'm not a doctor. But I recommend that you already made this small step in this advice room. Then now make another small step to see a doctor.Just remember if your feeling afraid. These thoughts are only being conjured up in your head. They are not real life.A doctor is your friend, and wants to help you.
Do things in baby steps, contact your doctor,be open with them about how you feel.Get your medication from the doctor and take it.Then get a check up a week or 2 later,to make sure your ok.And regular help after that.
You may also check your local phone book for telephone councilling services for someone to talk to over the phone, for days when you can't seem to face anyone.Just be strong and know i'm here supporting you. You'll do good.any other issues email me neo2028@yahoo.com also pray .takecare

I'm not a professional sweetie so I really can't diagnose you, but you DO need to go to counseling. There are people out there who can help you. Don't be scared. They are there to help you feel better. That is what you want, right? Please, get some help.
I too was afraid to go to counseling for my problems--anxiety and depression--but it was the best thing I ever did. I am in such a better place now because of it. My therapist has helped me so much in the last 7 years. It's like night and day.
Good luck!

Anxiety/Depression- Dont be scared of counseling. That is what it is for. Make a concious effort- even when you are feeling very scared one day- to make sure to go out and do something. Interaction with others can be hard but it is very helpful, even if its uncomfortable for you. Everyone builds off of other people's energy. I know its stupid to say "well just stop being anxious" dont turn to drugs- trust me on that one. Spend some time outside get a lot of exercise- get off the computer :P

You don't have to be scared to go to counseling. Seeing a therapist isn't a bad thing, to your image or your health. They're there to help, not bite.
You need to see a therapist rather than to get people's estimations of a mental disorder here. That way they can get a larger picture of your life and the possible causes of your symptoms, and then help you to find out how to solve the problem.

If you are really concerned, and you should be, talk to your family doctor about it. He or she can tell you what you are suffering from, get you medication, and decide if counceling is right for you.
If what you are afraid of, as counceling goes, is being put into a mental instatution don't worry so. People are only sent to those hospitals if you are a threat to someone one else or yourself. If you are not causing harm to anyone or yourself you can go to counceling with ease, knowing they will only talk with you to help you feel better and find the underlining cause of your distress.

No, no one here can tell you what disorder you are suffering from. People can guess, but the only way you'll find out for sure is to talk to your doctor about it. I suggest you get over your fear and do this as soon as possible. Good luck!
