YOu might find this link from the Witter website helpful. Even if your towbar is a different make it might have the same mounting points so will give you some ideas. If you go down to the link marked fitting instructions you have them in detail there complete with pictures

ok then, first you have to look and see what type of chasis set up the car has, like you said your's has to threded holes in the chasis and your bar has six bolts, you have two options here you can either drill the remaining holes in the chasis and use a "tap" (a special tool to cut a thread into the metal easily purchased from a tool shop) you have to make sure you measure the head of the bolt if its a 17mm head you will need a M10 start and finish tap if its a 19mm head use a M12 start and finish tap.to M10-M12 refering to the diamater of the hole (always drill a hole 1/2 a mm smaller than the tap). To use the tap start to thread it into the hole griping the end with a small pair of adjustables, and rember to do a half turn clockwise then a quater turn anticlockwise untill through the metal repeat with the finishing tap and there you go you have holes to mount your bar.
The second option is to weld the bar directly to the chasis but make sure the bar is square. the next part is far more tricky depending on the type of bar you have if it drops below the rear bumper then hooks up fine, but most likely you will have to cut a hole in the rear bumper so i hope if you want it to look good consult a pro.... but if not be carefull its very difficult to put back what you cut away, so use a hacksaw fine blade not to damage the painwork or plastic witchever it is, and rub with a 180grit pad (smothish sandpaper) and get some aerosol paint to flick in if you damage it, with regardes to the exhaust drop off the mounts and pop back when finished that's all there really is to it..
hope i helped and im sorry for the spelling!

All the towbars that I have had on my 4 Volvo's were original, and fitted to pre-threaded holes at various points. have a search on the owners club website, or ask there, someone will give you detailed instructions.

its not recommended to fit a second hand tow bar or use second hand bolts, why don't you buy a new tow bar kit from tow sure or look for a link from eBay, they are not expensive and you will be supplied with a full fitting kit and easy to follow instructions, you may have to remove the back bumper but there will not be any drilling to be done and you will have the satisfaction of having done a proper job.
