My three year old is exhibiting some talent when it comes to baseball. He can whip that ball with incredible accuracy and distance. He can also hit the ball out of our yard over the fence. He is also showing signs of being ambidextrous like his dad.

How do we nurture this natural talent without making him feel pressure? Are there fun programs for kids at this age that would be appropriate?

At first I thought I was just being a proud mommy, but now strangers are coming up to us constantly to let us know that he has got something special.

Just keep playing with him. When he is 5 there will be T-ball offered by the local baseball teams and then the coach can help you to make sure he gets in the right program for him. Also good to encourage him with basketball, tennis etc. as it trains the hand eye coordination.

I have 3 sons. And my youngest would watch his brothers. One day they let him throw the ball into the tire they were practicing with. He was 3 and got it dead center every time. They were thrilled with him. And he kept it up. When T ball time came next year he did not like it at all. I did not make him try again when baseball came time for his age. He is now 16 and says he was so happy i did not push him.

The older two brothers played football and were state champs. The lost interest in baseball by 9th and 10th grade.

We just do not know what talents our kids will have as they age and what ones they wish they had. All in all just listen and watch them as they change. Having great talks each season on a sport really helps.

The middle child now races go-karts and is great ands will do sprint and Indy someday. he is now 20. If he decides to leave this sport..I will be there for the next adventure.

Well, that's so nice that your little boy is talented, but I beg you, PLEASE don't become one of those nauseating stage moms who try to shove their kids' "abilities" down everyone's throat!!!!! That is just great that he may grow into an ambidextrous pitcher for the major leagues someday, but what do you propose anyobdy should do with that information when he's only 3 years old? I guess you should sign him up for T-ball, which is like the toddler version of baseball, for starters.

Perhaps you guys could play with him often in the yard and then when he's like 4 or 5 you could enter him into a T-ball league.
