"Damn dude, your breath would knock a buzzard off a sh*t wagon" should do it.
(With apologies to George Carlin)
One more thing; If your "man" does not notice that you "don't kiss him anymore" you have bigger problems than his breath!

Tell him you found a new flavor of breath mint (try to find something he'd like!) and offer him a couple. Always have them around when you see him and try to get him hooked. Most breath mints are sugar free now and aren't bad for the teeth, etc.
Just make sure to find something he'd actually like... that way it's easier for him to get hooked.
Another question, why the smell? Does he smoke, coffee, etc.? Try to eliminate the cause!

He likiely can't smell it, but his colleagues and friends probably noticed it too. Is he diabetic? There are illnesses and dental health causes. Do a web search for halitosis, then discuss some the medical reasons. He may need to see a doc.

Make a little care package with:
-tongue scraper
-"breath freshener" toothpaste
-A business card from a dentist
-a small portable mirror (to check teeth for food particles)
-a gift certificate for breakfast (hungry tummies make
breath worse)
-parsley oil capsules

when he is sitting next to you on the couch or in the car start smelling around and say it smells like something died wherever he is sitting. then lean in closer to him and say "i think it is coming from your mouth." he could have a infection in his mouth that he doesnt even notice. you should be able to tell your man his mouth smells awful and it is better coming from you than someone else.

The only tactful thing you can do is offer him a tic-tac. Other than that, avoid close conversation.

hah if I have morning breath my boyfriend will just say "wow, we really need to brush our teeth". It's funny and I get the point, I do the same with him.

you must tell him gently because it will hurt his feelings. however, if u don't tell him, u might have to stay with it all the time. maybe u should say kissing u has been a good time, but u should just break it gently to him

Just give him an extra-large bottle of mouthwash with instructions.
