My mom always told me about "untimely deaths". She says when somebody is murdered or life is taken from the hands of another human and that person has not been found or the killing was unsolved the persons soul still wonders the earth until their death has been revealed. What does happen to the souls that have not fully lived. And is there really a "time" for someone to die. I always hear "it wasnt their time" well if it wasnt their time they would still be alive ..right?

Each has a time, yes. The same thing occurs with each soul (whether murdered or not). When the physical body dies, the soul "goes" to the consciousness it has achieved during that incarnation. If sufficiently purified, the soul will reside in the kingdom of heaven. If not sufficiently purified, it reincarnates back to the physical plane to give it another go. Eventually, all return to their home in the kingdom of heaven from whence they came.

Some Pagan religions believe in a soul somehow tied to the Earth because of something that happened to the person who died. Christianity holds that the soul goes from the dead person to heaven or hell (and some give purgatory as a third option). Other religions have other beliefs.

The reality is that the soul, the life essence of each of us, ceases when our lives cease. Christians have got the whole thing backwards - it's death after life, not life after death.

Your mom was right about one thing. Some deaths are "untimely" in the sense that the person still had things that they wanted to accomplish. You should strive to accomplish the important things sooner rather than later because there may not be a later.

It is true that many people feel the soul is some separate and distinct entity that is inside humans. They also feel that the soul lives on when the person dies.

The Bible has much to say on the subject. Beginning with the creation of Adam, the Bible says that man became a living soul. It never says that man has one but that he is one. Moreover, when Adam was warned of what would happen if he disobeyed, God told him he would die. God did not say Adam's body would die and his soul would continue on.

Throughout the scriptures the soul is spoken of as living, dying, feeling love, hope, hunger. Simply put, the soul is the person - thus, when the person dies, the soul dies.

As for a "time" to die, some people feel this is so because Ecclesiastes speaks of a time to live, a time to die, a time to be born, a time to kill and so forth. But this is no support for the contention that every person has a set "time" to die. If that were so, then nothing we do could prevent our deaths or lengthen our lives. Even so, we wear seat belts, we are careful crossing the street, we avoid things that destroy good health such as overeating, eating the wrong foods, abusing tobacco and so forth. Do we really feel it is just as safe in the middle of a war zone in a war-torn country as it is in the middle of one's living room? No, that is unreasonable. Taking precautions in our lives, then, would be meaningless if we all had a set time to die.

There is no such thing as a time to die.

I'll be direct. The bible mentions that the "soul" is indeed the person itself. That is why the bible mentions that Adam become a living soul. It other words the soul is you with your body. When people die there is no soul that leaves the body to a journey else where.

Now about the time thing. The only way that could be true, is if there was such a thing as faith and destiny. And well faith and destiny rule out the idea that a loving god exists.

"To everything there is a season.... a time to die" (Ecclesiastes from the Bible). The soul of the person may very well live on in the hearts of those who knew this person. We remember the lives of the saints to help us learn spiritual lessons. I believe works of art like literature and music hold precious pieces of the person's soul who wrote them, even after their death. However, after death the soul of the departed is judged before God. The spirit (soul) of the deceased is free, however, only to act for good in accordance with God's plan for the salvation of others. This might include finding a killer, or bringing one to justice. The outcome of the soul however is certainly is not dependent upon another's human act.

You ask a complicated question.
First, each of us comes to earth with a mission or purpose from God, our Father, who sent us here to begin with.
When we fulfill our mission, we return to our Father and God who sent us here.
Second, If are lives are cut short by the wrongful exercise of agency of another, our mission not being complete, then the person who prohibited us from fulfilling our mission will be held responsible for that loss.
It may seem that a life was cut short when in actuality your mission was complete and the sudden return to God was part of the plan. Only God knows those parameters.
Third, the spirit, once liberated from the body, goes back to God for assignment to Paradise of Prison depending upon whether our lives were good or bad. The notion that we wander aimlessly upon the earth looking for justice or in denial of our deaths is not true. We may be permitted to tarry for a short while to deliver a message or give comfort to another but that is all.
My mother was babysitting for a friend when the friend was killed in a car accident. My mother felt her come into the bedroom to say goodbye to her baby that my mother was caring for at the time. I believe that and other similar stories are very real and happen on numerous occasions.

I think that God has given each person a number of days to live on this earth. If that is 20 years and then someone murders you, God new that before hand. He will allow you to have ample oppurtunities to find his salvation. The Lord already knows our hearts and what we are going to chose to be and do, so it doesn't really matter if you live 20 years or 90 if it is going to have the same out come in the end.

If the soul was saved and accepted Jesus as the Christ, it goes to heaven to live eternally with the Lord.

If the soul was lost and rejected Jesus then it goes to a burning hell.
