I have never heard anyone actually use it in conversation, but it is often used in newspaper articles. Sacto, Sac-Town, Suckramento, Sack'o Tomatoes, Sacra-tomato, that trafficy place between SF and Reno/Tahoe, yes, but other than chamber of commerce and tourism types in promotional literature, no one calls it The Big Tomato.

I don't. I either call it Sac or Sacramento. I've heard people call it Sac-Town. I've never heard people call it "The Big Tomato". "The Big Tomato" sounds really corny.

No. Sacto, Sac-Town, Sac; those are pretty much the main nicknames for Sacramento.

but even thats pretty rare.
somebody above gave all the good nick names but straight up its just called SAC or at most sac-town or Sacra.

No. As with many cities surrounded by suburbs, most locals just call it "the city", or at most "the capitol".
