This can be answered in 2 ways.....with some people, I could care less. But to others, like my mom, family, close friends, bosses, etc. it is important. If I could care less about what people that are important to me think, that would be terrible. I mean come on...I think we have all kissed a little butt in our lives, at least to our boss ;)

I think so. I think it's a way to validate your own beliefs, Especially if you're not 100% sure.

That is NOt meant rudely either. I like to be accepted by people with my own beliefs as well (though if I'm not, I'm not gonna stress over it). We're social animals, we need to stick together!

I am one of those people.. IN a way. In one way, I really don't care what people think of me. But I do like to be accepted. I know, it doesn't make really any sense. I don't like to think that people are angry with me. With people I don't get along with or people I don't like, They don't bother me, but when they give me dirty looks are make smart aleck remarks. That really gets under my skin........... okay then, I think I got off of the subject here. .. .. sorry.

Most of us want to feel accepted, it's normal and learned at an early age.

I'm not accepted by alot of people because of my faith in Jesus Christ...

Doesn't bother me a bit.

But to answer your question:
People naturally need other people around them.....no one likes to be lonely

if one isn't sure and needs to validate those believes , of course you are going to get others to support you on what ever it is that you believe!

I think that is true for all religions!

I never quite understood that!
