The Catholic Encyclopedia states Bible is Skeptic and Concocted
A. THE FORMATION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON (A.D. 100-220)
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03274a.htm
The idea of a complete and clear-cut canon of the New Testament existing from the beginning, that is from Apostolic times, has no foundation in history. The Canon of the New Testament, like that of the Old, is the result of a development, of a process at once stimulated by disputes with doubters, both within and without the Church, and retarded by certain obscurities and natural hesitations, and which did not reach its final term until the dogmatic definition of the Tridentine Council. ("Canon of the New Testament")
There is a lot of confusion about the earliest existing texts of the Bible. The oldest extant manuscript of the Bible is believed to be the Codex Vaticanus, (preserved in the Vatican Library), which is slightly older than the Codex Sinaiticus (preserved in the British Library), both of which were transcribed in the fourth century.
As for the story of Jesus, there were at least 50 gospels written in the first and second century CE. Four of them (Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John) were included in the official canon during the fourth century CE and are found today in every Bible. All of the original copies of the gospels were lost. What we have now are handwritten copies, which are an unknown number of replications removed from the originals.
Rudolf Bultmann, a prominent 20th-century professor of New Testament studies writes about the life of Jesus:
We can now know almost nothing concerning the life and personality of Jesus, since the early Christian sources show no interest in either, are moreover fragmentary and often legendary; and other sources about Jesus do not exist. (Bultmann 8)

Yes, I have read the Bible from cover to cover. No, I do not think that I know everything there is to know about Christianity.

No-I would never claim to know everything about Christianity. It's a lifetime education. I find out something new every time I read the Bible and I've never sat down and read it cover to cover. I dont think there's any rule made by God that says anyone has to. I only pay attention to God's directions, not man's.

No. I don't know everything about the Christianity. Yes i have read the bible cover to cover.
Just because you have read the bible cover to cover doesn't mean that you have understood it, and it especially doesn't make you Christian.

Many of us have read the Bible cover to cover and we've read it many times, but no one knows everything to know about Christianity. We have great, elderly theologians who will not make this statement. Often the Bible is revealed by the Holy Spirit and for this reason we appreciate the many commentaries written on Bible verses. These commentaries save years of study or waiting for the Holy Spirit to answer. We have a legacy of dedicated Biblical scholars, but most importantly - dedicated men and women of God. The Bible is read line upon line, precept upon precept, and here a little and there a little. Many revelations are searched out in Scripture.

Yes, I have read the Bible cover to cover. I try to read it once a year. Like, several chapters a day. BUT:: I do not and will never know all there is to know about Christianity. If I did know it all I would be placing myself right up there with God and I can and never will be His equal. Right? I do know all I need to know and that is Jesus died for my sins and I am washed clean in His blood. God Bless you.

It would be arrogant for anyone to say they know all about any subject. The more we learn about the Bible the more we realize there is higher hights and deeper depts. No one will ever know all there is to know about God. He's much bigger than we are. All we can do is keep learning and keep seeking.

I'm smart enough to know that I DON'T know everything there is to know about ANYTHING. I am currently reading the Bible. I started at the front, and am heading to the back cover, but I'm not there yet.

I'm sure I could have read the Bible completely but I do not read it in a particular order so can't be sure. I am absolutely positive I do not know everything about Christianity.

Not yet, but I am working on it. I would just read it like a novel, but there are so many huge points in it and things that just have to absorb and I always have questions. My goal is to read the bible in a year and of course when I am done I will still read it every day.
