Three if you have not yet united to the One.
1. The spirit you
2. The intellectual you
3. The physical you

With much practice and patience you can surrender all of these into the Spirit of the Universe and become only One.

A revelation and a very wise one, I acknowledge and bow to your very intuitive insight, you have seen and realised a very profound truth with a edge of concern and inquiry, I have seen a wisdom and I am moved to respond...

Our Consciousness is a battle field as one very wise Christian posted above me ....Jeancommunicates...you have spoken a wisdom beyond your words and beyond your ken... I have seen much Wisdom unfolding in the answers here.../allow me a smile/...it is truly an awakening....I am humbled by its implications....

We have many Consciousnesses as you have so wisely observed, quite too many to name without more knowledgable insight, suffice to say more than a few. You have seen too that each is impermanent, each is concerned only with the selfish feelings of the moment "I love classics, I love to dance, I shed tears, I get sexually aroused, I pursue roamance, I allow myself etc" always "I", never "they", never with others feelings, this is the case always when the "Self" arises in the Consciousness..always, as you have seen and observed. There is something else which you have observed which is more subtle, when "Self" is allowed to arise therein, "Self" is insatiably chasing these selfish feelings, it is a never ending cycle of chase, get selfish, temporary feeling, to get more, must chase...never ending selfishness...a very profound wisdom, this is the Consciousness.

What then now...? To stop this "Self", releasing it into oblivion as it has been seen as only selfish and insatiable and therefore does nothing for others, to become selfless, yet this takes a choice....a very difficult yet ultimately correct one and will generate true, lasting long term happiness....for others, from where you will derive your own...

I'll leave you to your choice, as you know I must...

I have been profoundly moved by this question ...and by the wisdom of those who have answered....

Peace from a Buddhist....

one me. That is the problem in the world nowadays i think. People are no longer being themselves. They fight themselves try to be better or different everything but themselves. They were make up worry about if others will like them etc.. All this goes against nature and cant be healthy. Everything in nature is itself at all times and against all opposition except people. Maybe we would be better off when we are all a little more true to the one and only us!

The battlefield is in the mind, and good and evil collide. You are undisciplined. If you are Christian, you need the soul following the Spirit. You need to crucify the flesh and follow the Holy Spirit.

Woa back up buttercup.... your like self analyzing which is okay and all but I'm guessing you just "like what you like" and discard the rest...which is kind of in everyone to be that way.
I wouldn't worry about it. If you don't know exactly who you are, you will find out.
