christians often ask atheists this question.
but it applies just as much, (in my opinion more) to religious people.
What if you are wrong?

mustangmitch. "im not being stubborn or ignorant "
yes you are. there are flaws and "proofs" in both religions.
the following is the most stubborn ignorant and frankly, stupid thing i have ever heard.
"if there wasn't any proof there wouldn't be a christian religion "
then why is there a muslim religion?

christians say that you must accept jesus to go to heaven. Perhaps religions are similar in many ways, but they differ in very fundamental ones. its nice to say that they are very compatible, but it just isnt the truth

I don't think it is a question of right and wrong, I just think it is a matter of being more informed. Many stories in the Qu'ran about Jesus and Mary are old gnostic stories, the gnostic beliefs were widely spread throughout the Middle East. Coptic Christan's hold a different belief than American Christians. There are many biblical stories that were left out when the powers that be decided to canonize the Bible. I don't see anything wrong with the idea of Jesus being a Prophet. He said he was the Son of Man not the Son of G-D!

If I am wrong, I have hurt no one in my practice of trying to live morally and extend love to all, even when it's hard. There would be no consequence because if any other religion were right, they all hold these things (being "good") in high regard, and I would be rewarded in an afterlife or nothing would happen if this is all there is. There is dire consequence if I'm right though. The only way to escape the punishment of death for sin, is to have someone die in your place. Jesus is the only one offering that kind of love. No matter how bad or "good" you are( none of us are truly good). Through my spiritual journey, I have found myself questioning, just as you are, and I've come to the same conclusion every time. I'm not wrong, I know the Truth, and His name is Jesus. Even if i were wrong, i haven't missed out on anything in this life, at all.

If Muslims were right and christians wrong then as far as I understand it, if the christians have lived a life that has avoided wrongdoing as far as possible, then they may still enter paradise. This applies to all followers of 'The Book'; to Muslims the Bible and Hebrew Torrah are just earlier, corrupted versions of the word of Allah in the Koran, so Jews and christians are just misguided but generally the same faith.
Its propaganda from both evangelical Christians and fundamental Muslims that form the rift between what are ultimately similar beliefs.

Questions like these always remind me of a former christian preacher who converted to Islam, His name is Yousef Estes now. I guess he had that question in the back of his mind too. If you like, here's his link in video, not very long, shorter than an hour,... where he explains why he did what he did. You know, both religions have so much in common than most people think. For instance, muslims believe in all of the prophets, including Jesus( peace be upon him), the difference although is that in islam, he wasn't crucified, but lifted and protected by Allah. Muslim women often get critisized for covering up when out in public, but can anyone imagine virgin Mary without her head scarf or dressed in tight clothes? As you can see Jesus, and prophet Mohammad(pbuh) shared the same belief, to worship god. Also, if Jesus had no human father, so God was his father, wouldn't Adam deserve that title since he had no parents at all?! In Islam jesus was born with out a father simply because allah can do so, just as he did with Adam. Therefore, Jesus is a prohet and messenger of god, like all other prophets sent before him. Peace and blessings be on all of them.

...to the question what if ur wrong.. :
A Christian and a Monk/Muslim/Buddist/(Any other religion/belief other than Christianity)
begin to talk with one another and the Monk/Any other belief other than Christianity says to the Christian what if in the end there is no God ..after you've lived your life for Him on Earth... And the Christian replies : Well I guess I'd be sad, but what would you do if you found out there was a God and you had never given your life to Him and now it was to late??
You also never know when your time is up so you have no time for doubting. Give your life to the Lord and he will change your life forever.

The problem with your argument is that christians and muslims are praying to and/or fighting over the SAME god whether or not Jesus was his son is the main schizm.
My take on it is this: I am a christian, when I die if I am right then hooray for me- eternal life. If I am wrong, it won't matter.
When the athiest dies if he is right, it won't matter. If he is wrong, he'll be paying for that choice an awful long time.

As The Faith of The True Christian is based on The Fact of God and the personal connection between God and the individual... Those of The True Christian Faith know that the deception of islam is just that... and we know the source of the deception...
and we know that All who follow the deception of islam are the enemies of all of the rest of the human population of the Earth... not just Christians and Jews.
The proof of this position is clear... All who are true muslims believe that the quaran comes from the so-called god allah... that there is only one quaran... that there is only one islam... that the quaran is islam and islam is the quaran...
The quaran clearly states that All who do not submit to the law of the quaran and islam are to be killed... what dose this make ALL who follow the quaran and islam, relative to the rest of the human population of the Earth... can you say ... enemies

For a Christian who is strong in their faith with God their is no "what if", there is only " whats next", and " how can I help them get the best relationship with Christ", at least thats how it goes for me, I kno I have a calling from God and have heard Him speak to me, many people would say that I'm brainwashed, but I say Im in Love and Trust my Father, I have experienced Hid blessing in my life and I thank Him everyday for every hardship I have faced, every question that I couldn't answer cuz now Im stronger than ever

Finally, Pascal's Wager posted in the other direction!
And "Because the Bible is true" is not an answer, because that's what the Muslims say about the Koran. There is absolutely no reason why anybody should take a Christian's word over a Muslim's.

Greetings,
This just in from a Wolverine!!!!!! Number one Christians are not wrong!!!!!! Number two God's scripture tells us that scince Ishmael was not a true descendant of Abram and Sarai he was not going to become the beginning of the nation that God promised Abram, but would become a different set of nations which would be hated and reviled throughout their history. the son of Abram and Sarai,Isaac, would be the beginning of the nation God promised Abram. Because of this happenstance the descendants of Ishmael have been fanatically against the descendants of Isaac from time immemorial unto this day. hard to believe that eventhough these two had the same family origin our world today is in the situation as we find it in today.
Not from the actions of the nations from Isaac but from the actions perpetrated by the descendants of Ishmael.
