Are you for the death penalty? No
Do you feel that American society must do more for the homeless, for the poor, for working men and women living below the poverty line? Yes, but I think it's a complex issue. We have to fix education first IMO and the rest will be better.
Are you against a higher minimus wage? Actually, yes, I am. A higher minimum wage is a bandaid on a gaping wound. Improved education will fix this too.
Are you against affirmative action? No.
Do you believe racial and class prejudice still exist in the USA? I know it does.
Do I support gay rights? Absofriggenlutely!

The answer is yes to civil rights. no to the death penalty-murder is wrong. Yes we should do more for the homeless, the poor and those living below the poverty line. Yes to higher wages. Yes on affirmative actions (even if I am a middle age white guy). Yes, racial and class prejudice still exist in the US. What does any of this have to do with Atheists though. Its your right wing Republican Christian government (as well as Communist and fundalmentalist that most fights for these things. The murder of adults in prison, voting against the the poor and minimum wages. Equal rights and such. These are not things that Atheists would automatically be against. But then that might be your point.

Yes. I absolutely support human and civil rights and the rights of gays and lesbians. I believe in equality, and I don't need religion to tell me that, as I hardly think many of them promote it.
I am not for the death penalty, because it is a irreversible process and I have doubts as to whether any human should be allowed to take the life of another.
I am not American, but I feel that the UK is doing fairly well providing for homeless and those below the poverty line, but I am sure there are many who would disagree. I think the government would most likely give out more benefits and go the wrong way about it anyway.
I don't think a higher minimum wage will help as many jobs will become non-existent because the wage is too expensive for the service providing leaving more people with less money.
I don't completely understand affirmative action, having just researched it, but I think that perhaps by trying not to discriminate against less fortunate individuals, companies may inadvertently discriminate against more fortunate individuals.
Prejudice still exists in the UK, and I doubt the USA is much different.

Yes, I support human rights, civil rights and rights for gays and lesbians.I am against the death penalty. I absolutely think America should do more for the homeless and poor (healthcare, higher minimum wages, better working conditions etc.). I'm am for an equal opportunity for affirmative action. I don't think a black person should automatically get a job over a white person if they are at the same level, but they should have equal opportunity. This means NO scholarships for someone just because they are black. And yes, I believe that class prejudice still exists. I live in one of the richest areas in the US and you should see the way the rich talk about the poor.

An unequivocal yes to human civil rights... meaning ALL humans regardless of sexual orientation, doing more for the homeless, the poor, and poverty-stricken working men and women, and a higher minimum wage.

I support affirmative action, within reason. I do believe there is still racial prejudice in the US, but I think flipping things 180 to allow reverse discrimination is just as wrong. *Equal* rights to all people should be our goal.

I do *not* support the death penalty.

Atheists are not members of a club. We do not all think alike. Theists constantly refer to us as if we are like them, that is sheep.

The only thing we have in common is no belief in god or gods. Most of us also doubt strongly the existence of the supernatural/paranormal in any form also.

Asides from that we completely individual.

Personally, I was always pro the death penalty until it was shown that innocent people were being killed. I do still advocate it for child killers or other violent crimes with DNA evidence. I am against affirmative action, you should get ahead on your skills not your color, or background.

American society needs to get its self caught up with the rest of the western world, its education system is laughable, religion infects even the most prestigious schools and the government is the most incompetent we have ever had.

I think religious believers should all be put on an isla... nevermind.

Civil rights, for all people, regardless of race, creed, orientation, or anything else that divides us from being one humanity, YES.

Death penalty, NO.

More for the homeless and poor, YES, but socially, not governmentally -- I don't believe in government welfare. Let the community help the community!

Minimum wage only raises the bottom of the economic pyramid, it does not create new wealth, therefore, it's a feel-good bandaid. If McDonalds has to pay more to its employees, it has to raises its prices (as do all other businesses because of their pay raises), and the wage increase is lost in the increase in prices. Let the market determine the wage, government should be lassiez-faire.

Affirmative action served a purpose at one point -- it no longer serves that purpose. Racial and class prejudice still exist, but there is sufficient social pressure in place against it without needing legislation against it.

In some places, yes I think it still does

Oh boy.

Sexual orientation equality: Support

Death penalty: Oppose

Poor, homeless, poverty line: Do more, but understand it's a complex issue.

Higher minimum wage: Tentatively support, but mostly based on the opinion of economists who say a minimum wage is good and should be higher.

Affirmative action: Mixed feelings. Generally oppose, unless it's clear that discrimination is happening.

Racial and class prejudice: Obviously still exists. I've seen it first hand.
