Get your mind off of it and deal with it at a time that it's ok for your eyes to be blood shot. Go get a good book (not a tear jerker) or a movie, or surround yourself with family and friends (provided they aren't the reason you're crying). Good luck!!

Usually when a person is crying it due to sadness, stress, or physical pain.
Uncontrollable crying sounds like the person should see the doctor because crying for long periods of time could be draining.
Don't rub the eyes that will make the eyes worse.
Try these natural remedies below.

It might be better if the person can try to relax or take a nap or find something constructive to do with their time.

First how long has the crying been going on? If the crying is uncontrollable and for no real reason then it could be serious. Depression isn't something a glass of water or holding your breath can help. If you know the reason for the crying then I agree let it out....cry...it will get better. If its depression see a doctor.

If you really want an immediate reaction, I always look upwards at a bright light. Don't move your head/face toward the light, open your eyes as wide as possible and look up as high as possible toward a bright light. Try not to blink.
Try not to do this with the sun as you might damage your eye, but maybe lighting in your home like a light bulb or fixture.
Something about this stops me from crying. Maybe its the combination of drying from not blinking and looking at a light that shrinks the pupils....

Distract yourself, turn on the TV, clean something, paint a picture. Do something that takes your mind off what is making you cry.
There is really no way to prevent the red nose and eyes, but putting 2 spoons in the freezer and putting them on your eyes when they are cool helps.
Besides anyone who notices and says something better be prepared to listen to what is bothering you.

Crying is natural and should not be stoped or effected in any way. I always cry every now and then and I just forget about it and talk about something else and eat and laugh and when I look in the mirror I'm not red and my eyes are clear.

get a large glass of water and drink it, it is almost impossible to cry when you are drinking. As for the red eyes and face, splashing with cool water will help, but that is a natural reaction to emotional upheaval. Visine will help with the redness in the eyes too.

hello dear ! i hope your problem will be solved soon. you know,
crying is a kind of resting and getting free. don't think bad about it ! it helps you forget the problem sooner. but you know, whwnever i don't like to cry til it stopes automatically,
i think about my previous problems which are solved now and now i see there was no need to be that sad for it. Or you
can write your feelings then it willstop sooner . have fun

take really deep breaths, in through your nose, out through your mouth, go find a cold wet washcloth and dab your face and neck, blow your nose, and calm down, get you mind off what your thinking about, take some time to think about something else something that needs to be done, hopefully this should help and its also good in a stressful situation
