Its not police code... its a time system... 24 hour system.

1800 is 6:00 pm.

Midnight starts at 0000, 1:00 am is 0100... .it counts forward from there 2300 is 11:00 pm. Get it? It is very simple once you start using it.

Test question, 1:32 pm? 1332 hours.

It is used so there is never a mistake in what time something happened.

It depends on the context. If the dispatcher said, for example, respond to 1800 Franklin Street, than it was an address. If the dispatcher said that there is a breakdown on I-91 at mile marker 1800, that means there is a broken down vehicle 1,800 miles from the state line. If the dispatcher said report to the station at 18:00, it was probably military time for 6pm.

1800 is not police code. It's military time... 1800 = 6pm

Just saves officers the confusion of 6am from 6pm when we are talking about time frames.

i dont know of any 10 code that is 1800

but the time is what your looking at most likely.
the military time saves the confusion of AM and PM, by going from 0-23 rather 1-12 two times.

0100 =1am
1000=10am
1100=11am
1200=12pm
1300=1pm
1800=6 PM
ect

In our 10 codes it means nothing because it doesn't exist for use.

As a person above said, it can be a measurement of time.

It can also be the first four numbers you would dial to get a hold of a lot of companies :P
