I have a t.v. wall unit that is currently wood colored and I want to paint it black. What is the best paint to buy? Do i have to sand the entire thing before painting?

U can also use Kilz or Bin or Zinseer which I like Kilz the best. Get the orginal & have mineral spirits w/ u b/c it not water base. If u can spray it, that would work better. Use a fairly good brush & u may have to jst go over spots that u put it on 2 thick w/ a wet sand paper ..ask the paint dept. ..then again use a good brush & get some high end black gloss (if that is what u'r going for) & make sure u blend the strokes together w/ less brush marks. After paint is on.. barely touch w/ brush so u can get smooth lines.

Have fun! U'r going to feel GREAT about the complishment!

Sanding is best to make the new paint stick. You can use chemicals but I think you should still sand your TV stand for best results.

You can buy "Liquid Sandpaper". Just wipe it on and let dry.
There are many good paint brands at Lowes or Home Depot.
