Hmmmmm. Quite different answers so far... Weight seems to be the underlying problem. It would be a good idea to have a cat evaluated in case there is an underlying reason for the low weight. As far as milk... DON"T. Cows milk will cause digestive problems and irreversible organ damage. Go with a kitten milk replacement. It is formulated as close to a mom cats milk and designed for rapid growth and weight gain.
Good Luck!

Some cats get the diarria from the milk. You can buy dry cat food that has all the needed nutrition that a mothers milk has for them. That is what I do with mine. I don't give them milk . My husband gave them some pudding one day which was made from milk and guess what. They got diarria right away. I would stay away from the milk and make sure they have plenty of water in stead. God Bless.

Hi I give my cats water most of the time I too have heard that cats can't digest milk but my cats had it alot when they were younger and it didn't seem to hurt them. They now get like o cream on occasion and on a really rear occasion they get some vanilla icecream they love that as well. So giving cats milk doesn't appear to hurt them.

Not always. Many cats do become lactose intolerant after going years from not drinking milk. It's really cow's milk that bothers them. Some puke, or get the runs when they drink milk. IF your cat does become ill after milk, stop giving it to them. If not, then it is fine to give it milk occasionally.

I've never had a problem with any of my cats drinking milk, you could always ask a veterinarian if milk is OK for cats.

Cats typically are lactose intolerant. But a lot of people still give it to their cats and they do fine. Vets don't recommend it because it can cause digestive problems. I don't give it to my 2, but that's just my feeling. I think it upsets their stomachs.

There's no problem in giving them milk, just keep an eye for their intestinal health. If they start having diarheia, consider taking the milk out of their diet.

Most cats are Lactose intolerant. However you can always give them a little and see f they get sick or have a liquid stool.

All mammals once weened are intolerant to some extent. More just worse than others.

If nothing happens to them then don't sweat it.
