What is your favorite Sangria recipe?

Question

I want to make Sangria for my roommate's birthday bash in a couple weeks and I've never made it before. Searching around the internet and cookbooks I find hundreds of recipes, all quite different and all very delicious-sounding.

If you've made Sangria before, is there a particular recipe you would recommend to me? I'll be making it in large batches and I don't mind complicated recipes but I would rather they not contain extremely expensive types of liquor.

You may use the Gallo wine or any other inexpensive wine than comes on gallons recipients. Wash a lemon, cut it in pieces without peeling it, squeeze the juice in the wine and throw the pieces in. The same with an orange. Peel an apple, cut it in pieces also and do the same.Add sugar to taste. I use a cup and a half. 1/4 of a cup of brandy or tequila and about 2 cups of ice cubes. The last 2 ingredients could be adjusted according to how strong you want it to be. Be careful, goes down smoothly, but it is strong. Have a wonderful party.

I can't remember where I got this recipe from but it makes for one really good red sangria.

2 bottles red wine (cab. sauv. works best- try Yellow Tail or Lindemanns)
2 cans Fresca
2 apples, chopped into cubes
1-2 oranges, peeled and sectioned
1/2 lime
1/2 lemon
1/4-1/2 cup sugar

Mix the wine, fresca and sugar together in a big pitcher or bowl, then add fruit and let it sit overnight in the fridge. Remove the lime and lemon slices before serving. You can scale down or up the recipe as needed.

2 bottles red wine
1 bottle champagne
4 oz cognac
4 oz gin
sugar- optional if you want it sweeter
juice of 2 oranges
juice of 2 lemons
Put them all together in a punch bowl, stir them, add ice and lemon/orange slices
