I've always been a fan of the Frick: http://www.frick.org/

Also, if you want to do something really interesting go to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and take a tour of the facilities. They take you all the way up to the roof and the view of Morningside Heights is amazing.

Well, since I live in the Bronx, It will be times square. IT IS A TOURIST HUB. When i take the train down there its always crowded and not that special if u lived here for 15 yrs. But if ur just here to visit (which u probalbly are). Times Square is the place for u. Or u can check out Tribeca downtown in manhattan. They have many film stars passing through there. And its a beutiful neighborhood near Battery Park. Very NEW YORK-ish

Central Park is my favorite - so many peaceful spots in the middle of the busy city; but I love the city too, and have enjoyed visiting lots of other places there as well.
