It seems a lot of people are having this no sound problem.

First, make sure the computer isnt muted, then make sure the speakers are plugged in, also, make sure the speakers have power running to them and are plugged in.
Make sure Windows is set to deliver sound to that card and not some other card. or built in CPU cruddy speakers.
If all that fails, then install a new driver for speaker card.

THIS IS FROM MY MEMORY SO THERE MIGHT BE A LITTLE SOMETHING NOT EXACT BUT IF ALL THE OTHER THINGS HAVEN'T WORKED TRY DOING THIS...
START MENU
RUN
TYPE IN - SERVICES.MSC
LOOK FOR THINGS THAT ARE DISABLED
COULD BE CALLED SOMETHING LIKE SOUNDMAX
SOMETIMES I KNOW XP TURNS THINGS LIKE THAT OFF WHEN YOU GET THE UPDATES... WHY I CANNOT ANSWER BUT I KNOW IT DOES HAPPEN.
