Is it just the fear of losing a precious thing or a precious someone moving us to love them?

For women it is hands down FEAR... They have all seen a few to many Meg Ryan movies and start to think that their biological clock is ticking and the batteries are slowly dying. For men, (By "moving" i assume you mean pressuring).

No I don't believe in loving out of fear, fear should never enter into it!! I believe if you love, you should be free and you should treat love as if it were a fragile bird, with lots of care and tenderness. Sometimes, love is tough too, you are honest with the one you love, and sometimes the truth is hard to take, but who do you depend on otherwise to tell you what others won't!!

Maybe, but I prefer to think that it speaks more to a degree of appreciation for someone. Knowing that life is fleeting and that someone could be lost (through various means) at anytime increases the urgency with which we feel compelled to show our love for someone while the opportunity is upon us.

NO, but it will make you appreciate them.
Anyone who uses the whole, "If you love them, you will them go" is it full of it and weak. Maybe it is just because it is my nature to problem solve.
