here is what I do:

In the shower, clean your armpit
Put your armpit under the flow of water and stretch it out as far as you can
shave with the direction of hair growth
Make sure your armpit stay under the water flow while shaving
I do nto use any shaving product and it works fine.

Also, look into using a deodorant stone (looks like a clear rock). They can be found at most health food stores. They are made up of minerals that kill the odor in the armpit that causes smell. They allow toxins to still get out of the body through your armpits and do not clog armpit pores (which can also be causing the red bumps). It has been working for me- good luck!

Use the shaving gel for sure. Use a exfoliate on your body parts before you shave. That helps also I was told about the bikini bumps to use deodorant and for some reason you will not develop the bumps, so be sure to use deodorant . I hope that helps, Also use a sharp razor.
Oh maybe it's the razor you use, is it a pivot, double blade or what. Some people can't use certain types of razors. It all depends on the skin and the blade type.

Do you use an antiperspirent/deodorant? If so, that may be contributing to the problem. It can clog pores. Look into just using a gel deodorant minus the antiperspirent.

Also, don't use regular soap. A shaving cream or thick lathering body wash will work. Make sure the underarm is well moisturized before letting the razor touch it

don't shave with reg. soap that's what's irritating your pits.. Shower and shave last... Use shave gel, or hair conditioner..Also, use a sharp razor and make 1 pass in the direction of the hair growth....Do not dry shave...Good luck
