even greater things we will do, why aren't we seeing the power of God. Do you think that when the bible says that the people can do all things if they are in unity, this means that if we are all in unity with Christ we will see the true power of God revealed. Not in the fake Evanglist way, but the true power with healings and Love.

My friend,

Indeed God asks His people to be united, but that is not the priority of all things. The reason we don't see the power of God is because there are very few Christians that actually have a true real relationship with God - Who study the Bible everyday, who talk to and praise our Lord with all their hearts, who put God above all things.

you see a person that talks with God with all their heart it's a person that prays not just for 10 min. but also 30, 60 to 260 min. for when they talk to God with all their heart and mind and they open up and humble themselves time flies by and the next thing you know it's 3 a.m.

you see some times our everyday life keeps us from being really connected to God for we focus more on our problems and our situations that we sometimes forget to give the Lord praise.

in reality there are different things that keep us from seeing the glory of God - some people don't have faith (or real faith), some people let activities eat up the time that they could be giving to God - some people want and worry about the things in this world more than the Kingdom of God.

we forget that we need to fast and pray so that God may sent his power and most people don't even like to fast and if they do they sometimes don't do it right.

so you see it is when you truly connect your self to God that you can live and see the power of God. I know I have and so can you, just do the sacrifice and God will meet you along the way.

remember if we are united, but the spirit of God is not in us then we are nothing. But if we are united and God is the king of our hearts then we shall be one body in Christ and shall see his power.

God Bless.

Okay, you have two questions, so I'll give you two answers. Please try not to take offense at my answers, they are not a relfection of you, but simply factual answers to your inquiry.

1. You are not seeing the power of god manifested in his followers because the followers of the Jewish Messiah (Savior in English, Christ in Greek) don't even realize that they aren't saying his name right, so even if the words spoken were true, they would not see the desired effects because they are calling out to the wrong person.

2. What people fail to realize is that the Jewish version of god does not want the people to come together in unity so that they could do all things, even in Christ. Do you remember the story about the tower of Babel? According to the bible, god purposefully dispersed people and confused their language so that such a thing could not happen. Any preachings to the contrary are not of the Jewish god, but of men claiming to speak for it. That is yet another reason why even if the Jews had it right, christians would not see the benefits they expect. I personally don't believe the Jews got it right, you can draw your own conclusions from there.

Again, my answer is not a reflection of you, but an honest answer to your question.

Edit: jonathanbrickman, you really need to open your bible every now and then and actually read the words contained within it. Jesus claims on several occasions that his followers will be able to do things even greater than he did. And he also claims that when two or more are gathered in his name, their prayers will be heard, to go along with when he said that "whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it."

"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you." (John 15:7 NAB)

Sounds pretty straight forward to me.

God has a purpose and plan for all His creation. There is physical DNA and spiritual DNA. Christians have been misinformed about being "born again". Most believe that "getting saved" is the same as "born again", that it happens in an instant and they are "born again" in the spirit.

However, both physical birth and spiritual birth take time to develope and come to maturity. God is not going to give power to" babies" who wouldn't know what to do with it.

Mortal must put on imortal, corruption must put on incorruption. The Bible is clear on the fact that flesh and blood(the first birth) cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. There's great book, SonPlacing, that explains the full process.

Interesting question, and one I've often pondered. I know that we all have to be in line with Jesus in order for God's true power to work, and there's so much dissension in the church that that's not very likely to happen. On the Day of Pentecost, all the saints were gathered and in agreement, then and only then was the Spirit poured out on them. I think if we could all get together and agree upon things, and get in accord one with the other then we would again see this power revealed, and we'd certainly have a much larger impact on the world.

Actually the power of God can be witnessed in everyday things, it is about finding it and breathing it in.
Here is a short example, a soldier was running from his enemies and he could hear them catching up to him, so he hid in a cave because the land he was in had many caves. He knew he would be found, so he prayed, please dear Lord if it is your will, let them not find me and pass me up, but if it is your will for me to be found, I still love you with all my heart, soul and mind. at the moment he finished his prayer, he saw a spider, making a web in the front of the cave, now the soldier was intelligent and said "dear Lord you do have a sense of humor, how is this going to stop the men", but he noticed the spider continued to make the web. He heard the soldiers growing closer and saw one of them look into the cave he was hiding in, but noticed the web, and stated to his fellow comrades, there's no one here and walked off. At that moment the man noticed that the reason the men went away was because the web wasn't broken and it was a sign that there was no one in the cave. The spider then crawled off.
You see sometimes the power of God is right there for us to see but we just don't pay attention.
God bless and please pray for the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Have a great day.

We won't see very much healing through love if medical science is rejected, as it surely would be if such a unity were to occur. Christians say prayer is all you really need. Can you imagine what havoc that would have upon us?

The Bible does not contain a statement by God suggesting that "the people can do all things if they are in unity". It also does not contain a statement by God suggesting that all of His people will do even greater things than the Lord did.

The apostles proceeded to do those greater things.

After a while, those "gifts" were no longer necessary, and even tended to cause problems, so they subsided, but never totally disappeared.

I just witnessed the healing power of God in action last Friday, and it was great.

Hello and the "only" reason John was the greatest prophet was because of the fact Jesus Christ was the person He was the person to announce Him, it was the message and not the messenger. God bless.

We do accomplish great things through the name of Christ. Think of all the people out in the world feeding the hungry and spreading the gospel. Just because it doesn't hit you in the face everyday, like the national news, doesn't mean it isn't happening. Things like that don't make the news.
