.....as do those that crucify Him today?
Peter knew that..and he wasn't afraid to TELL them that either.
"Now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Christ would suffer. Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets. For Moses said, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from among his people." Acts 3:17-21

Yes, and I need not go to Peter's proclamation in Acts, but to Jesus Himself, "Father, forgive them. They know not what they do," said on the cross. What incredible love He has for us!! While we, in ignorance, crucify Him daily with our sin, still He died for us, and still He calls us to Himself for forgiveness!

"Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, My God, shouldst die for me?!"

Peter was being diplomatic.

The Jews and the Romans were willingly hoodwinked. They would be given a chance to repent and convert, but anyone who failed to do so would eventually suffer the consequences, when the Romans sacked Jerusalem in 70 AD.

Ditto for the Romans, at the hands of the barbarians, some 400 years after that.

The one who should have known who Jesus was, and who should have respected him but didn't, was Satan, who was really responsible for the crucifixion of Christ, and who was found guilty of the crime, forfeiting all that he had earlier gained from Adam's sin, the moment Jesus died.

Yes JayDee.

When Jesus saved me my heart was so overwhelmed with joy, but yet an urgency to tell people (including Christians) to "just say His Name, tell someone about Jesus everyday, even in church people are not saying Jesus' name, you hear more about what the people are doing or how nice someone is, etc.
We crucify Him everyday because we can't even say His Name."

JayDee, it had to be the Holy Spirit that gave me the boldness and confidence to say these things, because honestly as I was giving my testimony the words just poured out.

That's why I really can't get angry with some of these people,
they really don't realize what they are doing.

Jesus prayed, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.". That would indicate that they acted out of ignorance. And this ignorance is still sin.

Like Jesus told the Caesar, "Those who turned me over to you have committed the greater sin.". So, those weren't so ignorant. More knowledgable of what they were doing. Yet they were ignorant at the same time.

According to the Bible, God planned the whole thing. He just had to get someone else to do his dirty work. Judas should be a big Christian Hero.

If Christians really believe this, why have they persecuted the Jews for allegedly killing him?

Reason why Jesus cried "Father forgive them, for they know not what they're doing."
