I have found myself on a committee to plan my class reunion and I must say I am getting frustrated. The others are planning on spending money on invitations (we don't even know where everyone lives) and favors (wine glasses with our class etched into it-tacky) but want to have someone bring their radio from home!!!! OMG!!!! Someone please help me before I burst!

Dang! Sounds like there's not a lot of communication between the committee! My 15th was a headache in retrospect, but I was the only one doing any planning, no committee. I just *informed* a friend that she was making the nametags and coming up with a program of stuff.

It turned out great, but I wouldn't do it again. The college reunion and the next HS reunion was so disorganized that I bowed out. It sounds like you need to for your sanity. Or just offer to do one tiny thing if you feel you need to. Tell them you have time constraints and can't devote yourself totally.

That's what I did, and I stopped getting the emails, they got the hint.

if it is going in this direction then you should run in the opposite direction esp if they are being so tacky
or
you can find ideas that other classes have used for reunions and suggest that the group pick from the list...ie: postcard invitations, email, public notices in newspapers (esp for small towns)...as for favors-not necessary-though for our last one we got (later) a cd of songs performed by a band of the classmates...

It sounds hopeless. Extricate yourself from your commitment asap. Lie if you have to. BTW I had NO desire whatsoever to attend my 20th hs reunion. I'd rather stick rusty needles in my eyes!
