Don't do it if you want the job. Employers expect all job candidates to show their very best behavior during an interview. If bringing your child with you to an interview is your best behavior, what, they'll wonder, is your worst behavior? Listen to your intuition.

This people are ready to judge you on everything you do and the fact that you couldn't find a babysitter might represent to them as a continous problem if the want to hire you. But I would go with what is better for you because you don't want to have the worries about the person you living you child with.

You said it best...no. It would not look right and give them an impression you may not want them to remember. I am a mother. When it comes to your baby, few can be trusted. Call around, go a visit daycares or interview as many people as needed. Take your time and when you feel comfortable with someone go with them. Also, pray that the right person is choosen for your baby.

who is going to watch the baby once you get a job? think about it. if you cant leave your baby with anyone you need to find a job in which you can bring her with you such as a daycare center or one that provides childcare in the company. that way you can check on your child thoughout the day. but taking the baby to a job interview? sounds like you dont really want a job.

It's hard, because babies are usually hard to keep quiet, and need most of your attention. I would suggest you to find a friend that can either come with you to the interview and stay outside with baby, or maybe even taking the baby sitter with you and have her wait outside with the baby. That way you can have her close enough and you won't be worried.

I think it really depends on the kind of interview you are taking part in. However, if at all possible try to find someone to watch your child. If you can't you may go to the interview and explain your situation, or you may ask to reschedule very very soon. Both are kinda crap shoots but can't hurt to try. Look it this way, if you did not get the job for that reason....................than that is not the place for you to be. Good luck.

As an HR manager, I can assure you than it does influence an employer GREATLY. Don't do it. Don't even mention that you have children. Employers immediately think you will have a lot of absenteeism. It may not be fair, but it's the truth.
