I don't know the answer to your question, honestly I don't even totally understand it, I do know however that the Army doesn't have bases... it has posts.

The answer to your question is NO.

Certain posts have certain jobs, and not others. For example, on Fort Leavenworth, which is basically a post that holds the Command and General Staff College along with a lot of the Army's 'intellectuals' that are doing most of the thinking, you won't find Infantry, Artillery, Combat Engineers, etc. as there is no mission for them there. You don't even see tactical vehicles on a post like this. The enlisted MOSs you do see involve supply, logistics, military police, administration, etc.

On the other hand, a post which is housing a division, such as Fort Stewart or Fort Bragg, you will probably find just about every Army MOS on, except for the VERY specialized ones.

If I understand you question you are asking pretty much where you can go with your MOS 21R...there are certain posts that have more of a MOS than another...Ft Benning has a lot of Infantry, Ft Sam Houston has a lot of Medical, Ft Gordon has a lot of Signal...with your MOS you will be in a Combat Heavy Engineer Unit...just remember the main bases...Ft Bragg, NC, Ft Campbell, KY and Ft Hood, TX...but you can go where ever there is a need for your MOS

I think he wants to know is whether or not your MOS has any affect on what post you're assigned to. Are all Army MOS's assigned to every Army post? For example, if his MOS was a Helicopter Mechanic, then I doubt he'd be assigned to a base that had no helicopters.

Personally, I have no idea, but I hope that clarified your question for everyone else.

Do yourself a favor and join the USAF or USCG.

There are bases that are more MOS specific. My husband is a 88H and we have a very limited selection. Even though they are used on every base the odds of getting some of those slots is very, very slim.

I don't know anyone in your MOS so I am not alot of help as to what bases you have a better chance at, sorry.

All Military Bases will have some form of Support Organizations (Civil Engineering / Security / Medical / Communication / Transportation) plus more MOS specific career fields (Armor / Infantry / Ect)

I spent my career in CE and bases need maintenance and repair at one point or another

If I understand your question correctly, then yes, housing will put ANY MOS into their housing.... They dont care what job you have, they only care that youre in the military. So if the soldier applies for housing, then they will accept that soldier... It may take a while to get in, but your name would be on the list.

not really, no. certain MOSs are only found at certainlocations, although there are afew general ones that can be found anaywhere. you will, for instance, find Supply and ADMIN MOSs anywhere, but Aviation MOSs will only be found on air stations.
