A heart rate of 120 consistently is not normal. However, there can be many factors for this. Are you dehydrated for some reason? Are you dizzy or lightheaded? It could be a congenital abnormality. I would find a good cardiologist and have some tests run. Look for thyroid dysfunction or myocardial pathway abnormalities. It is probably easily fixed, so don't ignore it. Be sure to find a reputable cardiologist. DO NOT let a family practice doctor or internist do the tests. You will end up at the cardiologist anyway, maybe the worst for wear and money out.

If you smoke, quit, nicotine is a stimulant and increases heart rate.
If you drink coffee, quit, it too is a stimulant and increases heart rate.
If you are sendentary, get out and get active that will make your heart stronger and slow it down over time.
A heart rate that high will cause damage over time, suggest you see a cardiologist.
