put a club on the ground pointing in the direction you want to hit the ball ... then align your feet. This will make sure that you are lined up with where you want to aim. After that, if you still dont hit it where you want... its not your body positioning, it your swing.

Once you get your stance, take your club and place it across your thighs. It should be pointing at your target.

You can also get lined up. And then take the club and place it on the ground across the front edge of your toes. Then take a step back and see where the club is pointing. It should be pointing at your target as well.

You can work on those two steps and get a feel for where you need to aim to keep your stance in proper position.

It may not be your aim, though. I could be other factors.

If your ball is going right, there are two common reasons why.

1. Your having an outside in swing. This starts with you getting your elbow away from your body on the start of your down swing and it causes the club face to slice across the ball. Try to keep your right elbow, (if you are right handed), close to your body on your down swing. "Tucked" instead of flying up.

2. Your hands are getting in front of you and coming through
before you are ready to square up. This causes the face to open up and creates a slice. Focus on getting your wrists to break at the same time the club is squaring up.

All of these things will help you keep the ball on your path.

Good luck and hit 'em dead solid perfect.

For me, the easiest way to line up my shot is to stand behind my ball and draw an imaginary line from my ball to were I want to hit the ball. I usually pick a spot about 4 - 6 feet in front of my ball along that imaginary line and use that spot to line my shot up.

For a right handed hitter, your feet and shoulders should be aligned slightly left of the target (think railroad tracks - the ball is lined up with the target on one track, and your feet alinged with the other track).

pick a spot on the ground about two feet beyond your ball and aim to hit the ball over that spot.

what my instructor told me to do is line of your ball with where you want to hit it and a divot. if they are no divots in your line then take a hukn of grass or a twig or pebble and put it in the line. like 5 inces in front of your ball. now focus on hitting it over that divot and it will go where you want

Intermediate targets can do wonders. People above say it all. Easy thing to incorporate into your pre-shot routine.

Before I saw that this was a question about golf, I thought you were talking about peeing.
