MONTREAL–Police in Montreal say they've foiled a bizarre extortion and murder plot apparently aimed at a couple who pocketed a $27 million lottery jackpot last month.

An 18-year-old Mexican citizen was arrested Monday afternoon in a Montreal neighbourhood and arraigned yesterday for conspiracy to abduct, conspiracy to commit murder and other charges.

Edwin Scarlotte Mata Lima, who arrived in Canada four months ago, is alleged to have planned the murder of Zenovij Pacholuk and Dolores Coffey, winners of the second-largest lottery windfall in Quebec history.

Actually, Mata Lima, is not Mexican, he is South American. And he has not been committed of any malicous intent. They are investigating why he has attempted numerous times to talk to these people. There has been a "Gossip" of sorts of death threats to the couple and even black mailers trying to get money out of them. Have you ever seen what Lottery winners go through when they win large sums like that? It is hell on them , billions of emails wanting you to buy, invest, donate, or just blatantly give money. People come to your door, write letters, and even try to rob you (like you keep that kind of money in your pocket or in your home - there's something for dumb crook news). Get facts first. You are not there. The best rule of thumb I learned years ago is "Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see". Something you may want to practice.

Wait they will invade your country by the millions, that's when it becomes even harder to stop them.

The ones that are wanting to rob lottery winners are the worst of the worst, those will be the ones that stick out like sore thumbs. Most of these people have robbed and possibly even killed people in their own country's and most have gotten away with their crimes

However there will be the ones that just want to work and send their money back to Mexico, they will keep a low profile. Most of these people just want to live in peace and to work and support their family's. So that you will hardly notice them, they won't be looking to rob from others so they won't be so quick to be arrested.

Believe me when I say this, if they are already arresting illegal Hispanic people in your country, it's already too late.

They have already found a way into your country, and they will keep coming. It's like once they find a crack in the border they use it to keep coming. Even if it means digging a tunnel to do it, as they have done that numerous times here. Even putting people into car engines/gas tanks, etc where ever they can fit them in to get them through they will do it.

Oh yes our police have been arresting them for years, that doesn't deter them at all. They just keep coming in, it doens't matter to them how many times they get arrested. It's all about making money and that is a strong pull for any one that is hungry and wants a better life.

As you have pointed out they are already there, believe me when I say you have no idea how many have already entered into your country. You have no idea how many pregnant women have come into your country and had their babies and are now citizens of your country. And you may even have paid for the babies to be born there. Just as they have done here to us.

I worked with the Federal Prison system for years and I saw first hand how many were arrested, over and over again. It didn't deter them from wanting to come back to the country, it was just a joke to them. They are set on making better money, so then they will go where ever there is money to be made. It doesn't matter if they have to cross borders to get to get what they want, they will do it over and over again.

These people did it knowing it they are caught they face 10 year sentenses and that doesn't even stop them. Money is a strong lure, and that is what is luring them even to your country.
