I not a fat person. I'm about 5'9, and weight 140. People tend to refer to me as skinny, but thats only because they haven't seen my stomach.
I've eaten alot lately to gain a bit of weight, however the only part that seems to accumulate fat is my stomach. Most people tell me that I don't have a stomach, and am overexaggerating. However they don't seem to understand that when ur tall, and skinny, the littlest bit of tummy shows. I'm starting to feel really selfconcious about this, I don't even wear tight shirts anymore. It seems like the only place I gain weight is around my stomach area. I don't know if it's possible, but I would like to get rid of my love handles, and stomach I have, but not loose weight from others parts of my body, because although i'm fat around my stomach, the rest of my body is skinny, and I didn't want to loose any weight anywhere else but around my tummy. So i'm wondering is it possible to loose weight around ur tummy, and not other places, if so how?

There is no way to lose fat in only one area. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but it is true. When there is a calorie deficit in your body, it takes fat from all over to convert to energy. That being said, you can do all sorts of abdominal exercises to tone and firm up your stomach (build muscle there) but, contrary to what most of your other answerer's say, crunches and sit ups DO NOT burn fat on your stomach anymore than anywhere else. I think if you did some cardio exercises such as jogging, biking, swimming, etc and ate a healthy diet, your body would start to work itself out naturally. If other parts of your body do not have a lot of fat on them, then losing weight there won't be a problem because you don't have the weight to lose. Good Luck!

I have the same problem. I appear skinny, but I'm hiding a little belly :)

Anyways, what I have found works for me is (the most obvious i suppose): Crunches

Not sit ups, those take too much energy out of you.

Lay on your back with your knees bent comfortably and suck in your belly. As you do that, also tilt your pelvis up. This is the perfect crunch position.

Begin doing regular crunches, just barely come up til you can feel it
Try to go for 20-30 .. you can probably do more .. but switch it up, do two repetitions up, then one down, or 4 reps up, and 3 down

You will start to feel it burn REAL quick, but it almost feels good because you know its working.

I try to do at least 100/day

You can also lay on your left side with your right knee bent (&vice versa) and crunch sideways, that way you arent ignoring specific parts of your stomach

I am sure most people will say Ab exercises but they really do work if you keep up on it

Good luck!

Are you doing toning exercises and stretches for your abs? That will help (don't overlook stretching...it's very important). Those exercises won't do it alone though. Get a little aerobic exercise daily. Walk, bike, dance, run, play tennis, etc. for at 30 minutes at least 3 times a week, daily if you can.

And don't look for physical perfection! A few round curves are really ok!
