I had my tounge pierced for about a year. Just keep it clean-rinse after every meal and if you smoke. You have to get used to talking with it...at first you might have a lisp. the olny thing you have to remember is that you have a major vein in your tounge and if the guy should hit it - it could paralyze one side of your face. Also you will be more prone to infections...keep in mind that its a hole in one of your major organs thats constantly trying to heal itself without success....so your immune system may weaken b/c of this healing process going on all the time. I took mine out b/c I had to get a job, dont keep it in for too many years or the hole will just get bigger and bigger. I have freinds that still have theres after 5 years and its really unattractive when they open their mouth-the hole had gaged itself to like a size 0.

They use a forked scissor clamp to hold the tongue in place they will then check the under side to make sure that they are not going to hit a major artery and after running a hollow needle with the stud on the inside through your tongue in the middle of the v clamp. They will pull the needle through leaving the stud in place. Before doing any of this most places will give you a highly potent mouth wash that not only eliminates bacteria but also acts as a local anesthetic to numb the tongue. The pain wont kick in until a few days later when the swelling and tenderness rolls in. Just be sure to take proper care of it and you will be fine.

I have had my tongue pierced for 3 years now and have had no problems with it. I would deffinately check out the place you want to get it done at. Make sure they are experienced and clean. You may want to even get some previous clients opinions. All they do is disenfect your tongue, make a mark, put a large needle through it, and then the bar. If you drink lots of water and clean your mouth like they say, take ibuprofen for pain and swelling within a few days you will be back to normal.

I had my tongue done for a long time, and i am still alive and kicking...lol...They pretty much take the clamps and place it on your tongue, and shove the needle through...it is a very quick process...make sure you keep it clean and follow the care directions after you get it pierced and you will be fine....and also make sure whoever does it is licensed, and that there shop is clean and steril...make sure they have plenty of experience....the only bad things about tongue rings that i do know for a fact is, they will eventually ware your teeth from biteing it, and running it across your teeth...that is why i eventually took mine out....but that takes a long time useally before that happens...unless you bite it all the time, then your chances of teeth breaking are pretty high! Good luck

it's a bar not a ring...

you're unlikely to die from a tongue piercing - there are nerves in the tongue, and in the incredibly unlikely event that a professional piercer hits them it could cause problems. but that happens about 1 in a million. otherwise, problems include a possible lisp (mine went away after the swelling went down) and the potential for chipping your teeth.

My friend had it done.....she now has a lisp!!!! It is up to you. There can be so many complications. The stick a needle through your tongue and it sounds like it could hurt somewhat.

If you want to advertise that you like to give head...get one.

I think that stuff is so stupid. If you think you're being different and "expressing" yourself...grow up, you're being trendy.
