Could someone please tell me if they know what I might be suffering from. Doctors don't seem to know and I have had this condition since I was 20. Some doctors say that the rash and the pain are not related, but having had it for several years, I know for certain that the two are related, since they always happen at the same time. The pain goes from my throat to the centre of my body, where it is chronic. It literally feels like someone is stabbing through to my back, or like a sharp crisp just sliced through from my throat to my centre. The rash is like hives - all over my body from scalp to soles of my feet. I know when I get the pain that the rash will follow the next day, or vice versa. I get this about four times a year on average and each time I feel as though I am dying from the intense pain. (the pain comes on when I lie down).I know of conditions like acid reflux but that doesn't cause a rash. Alternatively there are conditions that cause a rash but no pain. But both??HELP

Hives is in this ...
http://www.ylcf.org/hormone-imbalance/06.htm
This is Miriam Brazels's list from 1997 revised in 2002.
Psoriasis is also on the list ...
I would suggest you do a preliminary on line hormone test at www.hormoneprofile.com or www.johnleemd.com
If as I suspect they recommend hormones please have a saliva test done see www.npis.info or www.salivatest.com.
A saliva test will check out active hormones something that blood tests do not. If a hormone is suggested by the saliva test please have her take the dose suggested for her. Size 10 shoes are not twice as good if you have size 5 feet.
The WHO (World Health Organisation) uses saliva tests.
A transcript of a John Lee talk - this explains why for hormones a blood test is worthless.

Search the web for "natural progesterone hives" and you will find many pages read and carefully select.
There is a list of doctors at www.npis.info who are aware of the benefits of natural progesterone they may be more helpful than your GP. You are about to educate your GP :-)
Natural progesterone means natural to humans i.e. identical to that produced by the human body.
Any progesterone you buy must be natural progesterone USP. USP means United States Pharmacopoeia. Wild yam is that wild Yam the body will not convert it to progesterone
see www.npis.info for more information
Do not take fake progesterone/progestins manufactured by the drug companies they will be of NO benefit.
Hope this helps in your search :-)

I have a condition called Barretts oesophogus and am in the cancer screening programme because of this.I have had years of acid reflux which has been getting progressively worse over the last 2 years i have been having a similiar rash to the one you describe. It is like hives and i believe it is an alergic reaction because the digestive system is not working properly .The problem is in the gall bladder--pancreas part of the digestive system Like you i know that the two are related---arent the doctors useless. They took 40 years to find that our friends pain was due to being born with 3 kidneys--it is beyond belief

here's a link to what you may be experiencing from the rash, and not sure about the oesophageal pain, you may be right about acid reflux, I'd try to see a specialist, have a referral to see a dermatologist, they would be able to distinguish what type of rash and if the two conditions are related, have they done blood tests? There are so many conditions online, but I wouldn't read them all, that would just cause you to panic of "what it might be" and thats no good for you either. I really hope you get to the bottom of this, it sure sounds miserable, I feel so badly for you. Get well soon!

Hi, have you tried keeping a food diary to see if the symptoms occur when you eat certain foods - also if you come into contact with other substances ie, hair dye, paint etc. It may be an allergic reaction. I had hives and joint pains but only in summer - realised it occurred when I had lots of shell fish on holiday. Now limit the amount and ok. Good luck - hope this is useful.

the pain could be indegestion, that can feel like your having a heart attack, could be caused by eating something that dosent agree with you, then you would get the rash as well, keep a check on what youve ate or drunk when you get the pain cos the hive rash shows an allergy to something, i have had both but not together

Wow - I'm so sorry for your situation! That sounds awful. I'm not a physician but it sounds like some sort of allergic reaction to something. Have you tried seeing an allergist? I would continue getting different opinions from specialists until you figure out what this is. You should not have to life like that!! Good luck sweetheart.

I had the oesophagal pain issue which I found to be caused after I was chewing sugarless gum. I apparently had a reaction to main ingredients. The pain even woke me at night. Solution was to stop chewing sugarless gum.
