My friends cat gave birth a while ago and all the kittens are healthy and are now 9 weeks old, my friend will be puting an ad on the internet and in the local newspaper, she will make sure they only go to good homes, but was wondering ho much she should sell them at, since we figured out that if we let them go for free then some experimentist might take one, but they probably wouldn't pay for it, any ideas they are all strong and healthy.
Should some colours or personalitys be more expensive then others?! PLEASE HELP!!! If you could tell me the price in £ (average) then that would be great!
By the way sorry there are no pics!
Thanks

They are not pedigree so i know they won't be expensive, they are part ragdoll, and there mamas a cross-breed.

I would say around $30. you can say that when they come back and show you that they have been fixed they can get that $30 back.

Hi there kitten_princess,

What type of breed are the kittens? Some kittens are worth more money than others. If you just add what breed the kittens are on add details I will star your question and come back to it later on, hopefully I can then be a bit more helpfull to you,
Best of luck!

If the kittens are not pure bred i dont think that they can be sold at a high price as people usually buy purebreds, If i was in your position I would probably say £10 each.

Good luck!
Lotty.

Dont know how to convert dollars to pounds but charge something or you will get people who want them to train pitbulls, feed snakes, etc. or as you mentioned experiments. Maybe $15 -- then at least there is some investment on the purchaser's part and they are less likely to abuse/misuse the kitten. I dont think you should try and price them according to color or personality, because what you or I prefer might be totally different than some one else. good luck and get that mama cat spayed. Too many kitties in the world now.

I think you should only charge the cost it took to care for them the 9 weeks they were with you. I don't think you should make a profit off of kittens. Remember that the person getting them has to pay for shots and nuetering the kittens in the next few months. That can add up to a large sum of money. You can make sure they are not going to "experimentists" by screening the people.

I have never seen Kittens $ each. But I have seen plenty of free kittens on road sides, peoples homes, newspapers. May be difficult unless it is a special breed and even then, there may only be a few takers. Experimentalists and other people that perform thoughtless acts to animals such as kittens as unavoidable. You can always refuse someone, but caution to that as well. A low kept family may love it like crazy but may raise it as a mouser, while a well dressed individual could be a psycho...Good Luck.

Well, that is a really tough question, is she really looking for profit or just to get them to good homes? Cats are really a dime a dozen, and there are so many out there you can get for real cheap to free. We are looking for a kitten too, but I wouldn't pay more than about $20 for one! Tell her good luck!

I hear you, but I don't know if people will be willing to pay for them unless they are purebred. Do you have a no-kill shelter in your area? They would make sure the kitties get to good homes.
