Ive always wondered that myself. To me it is either a case of the bible condoning incest as she would have had to be his sister. Or a case of there being other people besides Adam and Eve. The bible tends to leave out things that dont fit into the christian scheme of things. For example the age of the earth has been sceintificaly proven to be older than the bible says it is.

You want the truth?Read ezekial 16 then you will see that adam had a father that was an amorite and his mother was an hetite,Adam was born , but cast away ,because the people of that time could not breed with other nations .While he was suffocating in the dust ,God came along ,took him to eden and raised him as his own ,When he was grown God made him a wife out of a rib,When cain was born he was not of adam but Eve ate from the forbidden fruit ,Thats why God dindt exept Cains offering ,Cain killed Abel ,that was from Adam ,God chased Cain away to live at the otherside of eden ,Because he didnt look like an amorite or hetite ,he said to God ,the others will kill me ,so God gave him a mark ,Meaning his face were scarred so noone could see what he was ,and he got married to a woman from the other tribes.God started his kingdom thru Adam

Back at the beginning, when there was only the first generation, brothers would have had to have married sisters or there would be no more generations!
"Ive always wondered that myself. To me it is either a case of the bible condoning incest as she would have had to be his sister."
It's niether.
Today, brothers and sisters (and half-brothers and half-sisters, etc.) are not permitted by law to marry because their children have an unacceptably high risk of being deformed. The more closely the parents are related, the more likely it is that any offspring will be deformed.
There is a very sound genetic reason for such laws that is easy to understand. Every person has two sets of genes that specify how a person is put together and functions. Each person inherits one gene of each pair from each parent. Unfortunately, genes today contain many mistakes
However, Adam and Eve did not have accumulated genetic mistakes. When the first two people were created, they were physically perfect. Everything God made was ‘very good’ (Genesis 1:31), so their genes were perfect—no mistakes! But, when sin entered the world (because of Adam—Genesis 3:6ff, Romans 5:12), God cursed the world so that the perfect creation then began to degenerate, that is, suffer death and decay (Romans 8:22). Over thousands of years, this degeneration has produced all sorts of genetic mistakes in living things.
Cain was in the first generation of children ever born. He (as well as his brothers and sisters) would have received virtually no imperfect genes from Adam or Eve, since the effects of sin and the Curse would have been minimal to start with (it takes time for these copying errors to accumulate). In that situation, brother and sister could have married with God’s approval, without any potential to produce deformed offspring.

Cain's wife had to be one of his sisters, & the reason it was back then because there was no other life or a wife until Adam & Eve had other childrens. But we have to see that it was to begin to populate the earth & for that purpose only.

Grace (not law) unto you, and peace (not division),
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus -> Christ.
God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace.
It's notably all "allegory" and a "mystery" to solve.
Allegoric mystery is solved by "seek" and "find";
So there's see-king clues and also find-ing clues.
Find-ing clue: Find grace, to help, in time: Heb 4.
What you speak of is soulish, and not Spirit-u-all.
First man Adam: living soul; as in Adam(them) all die.
Last Adam: quickening spirit; in Christ(us) shall all live.
Paul: I speak of Christ and the church
Christ: is the end of the law, the head of the body
Church: is the body, which flushes the law as dung
Christ is our peace, who abolished the law from his flesh
We are his flesh, so it is up to us to flush the law from body
The living God of the living?
Eve is the mother of all living?
Jerusalem above is mother of us all?
It's allegoric mystery to solve in tme;
lest all perish instead of none perish.
By Law: all perish; none enter
By Grace: none perish; all enter
The END already written is declared from the beginning.
Let there be LIGHT(ONLY), and there was LIGHT(ONLY):
The GRACE(ONLY) of our Lord J->C with you->all. Amen.

Take it easy on me, I'm just speculating, as I have for years over this question: Perhaps men and women walked the earth but as animals (the Darwin theory), as an unenlightened creatures, and when God breathed the breath of life into Adam, perhaps that meant that this animal was no longer an animal but one who now shares with God in the cosmic consciousness.

Cain most likely married his sister. In terms of Torah/biblical law, the prohibitions against marrying close family members didn't exist until the laws were given to Moses.

If their God created humans at a later time, they would not have had the original sin.

It was God's intention that all mankind be related. It was God's intention that all of his human children come from the first couple. Compare, for instance, Acts 17:26.
At that time, so close to perfection, there would be no danger in marrying such a close relative. At a later time, of course, God prohibited marriage and relations between close family members.

As incest was the only way to continue the human species he had to marry his sister (or sisters if polygamy was allowed).
