I think meatless burgers are delish. I have tried all of the most commercial brands and here are my likes and dislikes:
Bocca: (made from soy protein). This one looks the most like a real hamburger - all the way down to the grill marks. lol. It does well with all the traditional burger toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion and condiments. If you cook it in the microwave, make sure you don't overcook it. It will get mushy.
Gardenburger: (made from veggies, black beans or soy protein {there are different varieties, it's not just one burger}). These are okay. I don't really care for the taste.
Morningstar Farms: (made from veggies and soy protein): I really love these. They actually have chunks of carrot and black beans. But don't let that scare you - they are full of flavor! If you want to try one out but don't want to buy a whole package, certain Burger King restaurants carry them. They're comperable in cost to the other burgers too.
I hope that helps.

They are made of soy protien usually. Gardenburger brand are made of potato and other vegetables.
I Think they are yummy. Many, Many people love them, even some meat eaters like them.
The trick is do NOT expect them to taste like real meat. They are delicious, but don't taste like real meat. So, if you don't expect them to, you can quickly develop a taste for them. Some people think they taste like real meat. If they do taste like real meat to you, that's a bonus, but don't expect them to.
BUt they are super yummy.
My favorite are Morning Star Farms Grillers and Gardenburgers. Boca Burgers I think are bleah..
If you like portabella mushrooms, you'll find some made from that. You may like those even better
yes, as the other person said, if you want to see what a veggie burger tastes like without buying a package of 4, look for veggie burgers on Burger King's menu. Also many restraunts like Applebees, RUby Tuesday's, CHilli's, T.G.I Fridays, Red Robin, etc.. have a veggie burger. Usually they will replace the patty on any hamburger on their menu with a veggie patty. So, you can pick a burger on the menu that sounds good (i..e.. peppercorn Ranch) and ask them to put a veggie burger patty instead of meat, and they will. YUM!! That's what I usually get at those restraunts, unless I'm in a fajita mood (chillli's has these YUMMY steak and portabella mushroom fajitas, I just ask them to replace the steak with more portabella mushrooms.. sooo yum).
Bon Appetiet!! .

Yes they are meat free. Here's a good way to make sure something is meat-free for the future. Look for a kosher sign on the pakage (a U or K inside a circle is the most common one) Then, right next to it if you see a "D" that means it's dairy and it has no meat ingredients. If you see the word "Parve" that means it contains no meat or dairy ingredients. If you look for these signs you can be certain you're not eating meat!

Some are good, some aren't. Gardenburger is the best company.
They're made of soy or vegetables. In my opinion, the all veggie ones are better than the soy ones.

Some are made of soy and some others are made with veggies. Different brands taste different.
