to wyomugs - i did not 'ban' anyone from answering, and thank you for your concern regarding my soul, it is always heartening to know others are concerned for my welfare, whether grounded or not.

but why you need to mention the 4th of july when it is not relevant does make me smile, as it is quite often that xtians mention random topics in relation to an unrelated question . but if that makes you happy and feel you are doing your duty to your god, thats fine!

i'll concern myself with your mind whilst you concern yourself with my soul. hows that for friendship?!

blessed be

dear auntb93 - "Nice people I can enjoy hanging out with. Isn't that what the Solstice requires, more than any specific ritual or activity?"

My circle's solstice celebration is actually this weekend. It's always a good time. Depending on the heat, we'll either have a battle between the Holly and Oak Kings or a full-on Sun Wheel. Or maybe both, who knows.

Blessings to you and yours,

Lazarus

Not bad, considering. Ever since My Steve committed suicide a year and a half ago, I have not done any rituals. So my "celebrations" involve being aware of the day, and in doing something special for myself, whether directly relevant to the holiday or not.

But this Sunday I will be attending a unique celebration, one arranged by the Ethical Society of St. Louis. The Society is not so much a religion as an instead-of-religion thing to do on Sunday mornings. It's an old organization, basically built around humanistic principles and the idea that people need a sense of community, and an organizational structure that facilitates good works and community service of a variety of types. They also tend to be somewhat on the liberal end politically, but have no trouble tolerating me as their "token Libertarian."

Nice people I can enjoy hanging out with. Isn't that what the Solstice requires, more than any specific ritual or activity?

Still, I do look forward to finding/creating a circle with which I can do sabbats here in St. Louis.

Plans for the 4th of July are going well, thanks. Got my earplugs at the ready.

As for the solstice.... it will happen whether or not we celebrate it.

Thank you for being concerned about my love and light on my journey. I will concern myself with your soul. May God Bless!

(You honestly didn't think you would NOT hear from someone from the "other side" of the fence, esp on "R&S".. now DID you?)

I will now sit back and wait for the thumbs DOWN to start accumulating!

Many solstice blessings upon you as well!

I was wondering, though, if you could help me learn more about your beliefs... I do not know much, being raised Catholic (ick) but am very interested and wanting to learn more.
