"Crabs" is the slang name for body lice.
These usually hang around the pubic region, but may also be under the arms, and in the really hairy, all over. They bite, and the bites itch.
Treatments used for head lice will also treat these. Close body contact, using the same towels or clothes, is enough to catch them.
